Don't follow beer like I used to so I've never heard of this. Was told Jean's wide does 2 barrels a year as a fundraiser? Idk but it's really good.
Learned a lot last night. I'd never heard of a super gueze. Steve went to Belgium and worked with this guy: https://www.lambic.info/Huisstekerij_h.ertie. He's a gypsy lambic blender that is cool with all of the brewers over there. They blended some of each of the active lambic makers at the time to make this beer. Made 123 bottles, this was the 12th he's opened. It was quite tasty. Lambic on left of bottle, years used on right
I don't do it that often these days. I used to be active in here trading but it got to where I was getting more than I could drink and it started piling up. I have 7-8 cases of bombers from 2014-2015. I dont even know what most of it is. I know I have half a case of 2013 Bourbon County in there. Couple Rare have a few Bourbon County Vanilla too. I know there's some of that Frog beer from marcus, not sure which ones. I really enjoy trying new beers, just don't get a chance to drink them as often these days.
marcus did you ever drink that Deal with the Devil batch 1 and 2? If so, how were they? I saw a batch 2 in my locker last night. Not a huge fan of that style but need to drink it at some point.
This is that h. bottle last night. No pop on the cork but then it gradually started doing this over a couple minutes.
Not to interrupt the beer thread nostalgia session but Corky Bucek did you see Green Cheek is taking over Barley Forge in Costa Mesa? I hardly drink these days but that could be a cool spot to check out.
