Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele have been confirmed to miss Sunday’s FA Cup third round tie at Middlesbrough. Striker Harry limped off with a hamstring injury 15 minutes from time during the 1-0 loss to Southampton on New Year’s Day, midfielder Tanguy having departed the action earlier in the game with a hip problem. Both players are undergoing continued assessment and are unavailable for the trip to the Riverside. There is better news on Eric Dier, who has returned to training, while Heung-Min Son is back from suspension. Eric missed the Saints clash with a virus while Son completed the last game of his three-match ban during that fixture. Full-back Kyle Walker-Peters has also returned to training after suffering from a calf problem over the festive period. Danny Rose remains out with a calf injury – he’s continuing on-field rehabilitation along with fellow left-back Ben Davies (ankle) and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris (elbow). Remember, kick-off on Sunday is at the unique time of 2.01pm owing to ‘Heads Up’ – a campaign that will use the popularity and reach of football to start the biggest ever conversation on mental health.
I don't disagree, but this insider is being touted as someone who got everything correct last summer. "The special one insists he’s the one , incredible how much levy buys into the Jose myth , getting levy to lump it on a 28 year old also says 'not true' that its not happening/fee too high"
"Following assessment today (Friday), we can confirm that Harry Kane suffered a tear in his left hamstring during our New Year's Day fixture against Southampton. Our medical staff will continue to review the injury with treatment ongoing."
So the 1st Leipzig tie is 2/19. That's exactly 7 weeks from the injury, so 6 weeks of recovery time plus a week to get back to full speed with training, etc. That should be enough. Worst case he's probably coming off the bench that game.
Yeah I just hope that game is their #1 priority. Trying to rush him back for Man City on 2/2 would be just plain dumb IMO
Easier said than done. When you have someone offsides because you stepped up in the other direction, it's not easy to reverse field and catch up to someone who is running at pace.
True story. Had a dream last night that i was playing CB and I went to reach for the ball and missed and someone was about to get behind me. I woke up screaming because my calf cramped up. I am limping today. #SoccerInjury
Looked a lot better in the second half. We just still have no identity and seems like no plan. Can count on one individual mistake every game to cost us a goal atleast. Vertonghen was abysmal today.
'The club and the Metropolitan Police have now exhausted all avenues of investigation following the reported incident at our home fixture against Chelsea on December 22. 'We carried out extensive reviews of CCTV images and footage, working with professional lip readers. All materials and reports have now also been reviewed by the police who have carried out their own investigation. 'The police have notified us today that, having reviewed and investigated, they have closed the crime report as they can find no evidence to support the allegation of racial abuse. 'We fully support Antonio Rudiger with the action that he took - however there is no evidence to corroborate or contradict the allegation and as such neither ourselves nor the police are in a position to take any further action. 'We are fiercely proud of our anti-racism work and our zero tolerance of any form of discrimination. This is one reason why we have attributed so much time and resource to investigating this matter. 'Had we identified anyone guilty of this we were intent on issuing them with a lifetime ban from our stadium as they would have no place among our proud, diverse fan base. 'If any new information comes to light, this will be fully investigated.'
I don't know what the club is supposed to say beyond "we found no evidence." You want them to call Rudiger a liar?
ah i gotcha. you know that it was the metro police that closed the case, right? what else was the club going to do in that situation, scapegoat some random fan and give them a lifetime ban just to take some kind of action?
That'd be a spicy time to be a neutral. Unfortunately, we are an extremely classy and professional organization
I am totally fine with the statement. They did look at all the fans in the area and they have video surveillance of everyone in that stadium. I think given the item that was thrown and the frustration it would have been possible to mishear under that context.
i'm honestly surprised as well. i believe rudiger, and figured there would at least be something to go off of.
I'd also support sending those fellows out of North London like Rex Banner too. I don't care how Eriksen has been/can been I don't want to see his ass anymore.
Also if you think about past cases, it was almost always immediately obvious who did it and the fans also tended to police themselves. That didn't happen here, which I think is why people have pause that it actually may not have occurred.
This team is a complete clusterfuck right now. If Levy wasn't completely full of shit he'd give Jose money to spend in January. But Levy is full of shit so I'm not expecting any new players besides maybe some loan recalls.
So presuming Eriksen is sold and Ndombele keeps breaking, lots of Lo Celso, Winks, and Dier until the end of April.
