Goose is fucking blowing up. Love it. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten into a new jamband like this. My girl is crazy about them too, and we’re hitting 4 shows on this spring tour.
I can only assume that since this weird shit has carried over from last night that this has something to do with the New Years gag
Just saw a pic of the crew breaking down the main stage. Gag is going to be ridic Edit: There are zero instruments on stage
That was one of the most bizarre concerts I’ve ever been to. After First Tube/Auld Lang Syne they put the other 3 down and Trey was just up there rocking back and forth by himself. They stopped playing for 5+ minutes while Trey makes jokes. Finally he says something like “I’ll just stay up here and play” and the show resumes. All the other band members are still going up and down on their platforms until they decide to just level everyone off next to each other. Trey was getting down on his knees to balance while playing because his platform was uneven and swaying side to side. Guy is a rockstar for playing through that.
They couldn’t even do a proper encore because Trey was stuck this has his rescue in it too which was like a 2nd encore for everyone
Great run. Hate that the gag was ruined by those mechanical issues. That first tube with the clones chanting and marching was pretty intense. The remainder of the setlist was heat on paper, but unfortunately the technical delay sort of sucked the energy out of the room. The remainder of the set was kind of nerve racking and eery. A friend of a friend works security at MSG and was able to let us in the VIP entrance every night to avoid the floor line, so we were about 10-15 rows back every night. Very dope. 12/29 and 12/30 were both excellent shows. 12/31 had its moments. Caught the David Byrne show again on broadway, but walked right past Alanis Morissette’s broadway show and wish I had bought tickets for that instead. Saw Star Kitchen (Brownstein + all the guys from Eric Krasno’s band) 12/29 late night, which was dope, and then Ghost Note ft Taz playing all Prince covers on 12/30 which was absolute FIRE. Missed New Mastersounds due to a 6:00 AM flight on 1/1. Slept for 26 straight hours upon returning home. Looking forward to Spafford in Birmingham in a few weeks.
What are you guys circling on your calendar for 2020? JRAD in Nola in March 420 Fest 2nd weekend of Jazz fest???? Phish Gorge 2-3 additional phish summer tour stops Phish festival in August Phish Vegas 2020 Phish NYE Hopefully find time to catch 2-3 JRAD and SCI shows along the way as well. SCI playing Nashville in July but it is the weekend after my brother’s wedding and the heart of phish tour season, so it is probably unlikely I’ll make it.
Already have tickets: Jan 21 Too Many Zoos Jan 30 YMSB and Traveling McCoury's Feb 21 Railroad Earth Mar 27 Goose in The Caverns for Bluegrass Underground taping Apr 15&16 Goose in Asheville Apr 17 Goose in Raleigh May 7-10 Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival That's as far as I've planned. I generally see something local at least once a week though even if it's just an open mic bluegrass jam. Will for sure see some Phish and Billy Strings shows TBD. Would like to do DelFest this year but will probably end up at DomeFest again. I don't really care for P4 that much but I have a friend that vends at this every year and I can camp at the tent near the stages which is awesome. That's where I discovered Goose and I'm sure that will be the plan again once they're announced. It sucks those two fests are a week apart though. If I don't do DelFest then I'll do another bluegrass festival.
Yes. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bluegr...s-82034829383?aff=ebdisfseated&clickref=JDqk7 Honestly wish it wasn't for the taping because it will be a short set. Molly Tuttle is an absolute badass flat picker though so I'm not that upset. Not familiar with the other two that night. Plus it's Goose in The fuckin Caverns.
Got JRAD, Marco, George Clinton (free even though he’s so old may be rough). May try to get to Ashville for Goose. Will grab some other late night Nola shows during Jazz Fest 3 kids keeps me limited
Did y’all see the Allman Bros announcement yesterday? I’m making plans to go up with my Dad, hope tickets aren’t a shitshow next week...wishful thinking no doubt. Also hope this isn’t some b/s cash grab type deal where you have to buy packages and shit. Also already have pit tix to Sturgill & Tyler Childers at Hampton coliseum that Friday so going to be a hell of a week.
Listened to 12/5 show last night. Fire. If you in this thread and don’t have Nugs.net app then you missing out. So much sound boards from so many live shows
Goose has quickly moved into my top 5. No order, but Grateful Dead/Jerry Garcia Band moe. Phish Goose Strangefolk
I have a friend’s login that is good through March and use it all the time. If she doesn’t renew I’ll probably jump on one of those deals they do. Bandcamp is another good app. Not quite the selection for this genre as on Nugs, but Goose also posts all their soundboards there. It’s free to stream but they will try to get you to buy something from the band(s), music or merch.
ReListen app guy myself...I’m pretty sure it pulls from like archive.net, Phish.in, etc. Much more AUDs than SBD recordings, but it’s free and most are good quality. Bunch of old school Drive-By Truckers shows and the like I stream from there.
I use this as well. Just hard to find good quality shows on more obscure or lesser known bands on it.

They will play where I want them to play, damnit. Actually, if we are talking logistics, taking the Marta right to State Farm is about the best way I can think of to get to a show frustration free.
I honestly can’t think of a reason they would over Lakewood/Alpharetta. It just doesn’t make logistical sense. What are they going to cap ticket sales at for a venue that can fit 80k? There wouldn’t be on-site vending and parking in the surrounding area is a nightmare. Sound quality is meh at best (worse than MPP lawn in my experience) and it just doesn’t seem like it’s something they’d do unless it’s part of something larger.
The Brothers presale for MSG was a massive shit show. About 10 mins waiting in line, half the tickets already gone, and then it kept saying the tickets I selected were gone, but the map wouldn't update. 200 level (which I've heard aren't great at MSG) were $180 and lowers were $270+. $49 service fee per ticket too....wtf man. Going to wait and see what comes up, but hard to justify $600+ on two tickets unless they are incredible seats.
$600 for 2 tickets is more than i would pay to have seen the any incarnation of the actual allman bros post duane.
