So I had to shut it down a while back. I will put the personal details in the spoiler below but everything is fine and I am going to start back up after the holidays. Spoiler: TMI You really wanted to read my personal information? JFC Just kidding, it is in the next spoiler. Happy holidays everyone. Spoiler Woke up about ten days ago and one of my balls was really sore. Freaked out obviously and googled that it could be caused by riding. Got into the doctor finally yesterday and had an ultra sound. The dr. was like can you feel this lump and my throat got tight. Turns out it is pretty common side affect from a vasectomy. He said even though I had one a year and a half it can turn up 40 years after the procedure. Basically scar tissue that gets inflamed. So good news nothing serious, bad news had to sweat it for 10 days.
thank you. Woke up at 530 laid in bed till 545 trying to talk myself out of going on a run. Finally got up and did 7. Currently at breakfast with my wife and two youngest. Going to dinner tonight a brewery. Life is good. I am alive.
Two year anniversary with the bike. I can’t believe how much I’ve used it and the app in general. I’ll do a ride in a bit but this are my stats two years in 105 week streak. 1850 workouts. almost 1100 rides. Seems like a good investment.
Day 25 Zen in 10 Too tired after 8 hour drive home on Christmas to do anything else. Day 26 20 min power yoga Day 27 60 min chest and back bootcamp with Jess
Yeah. I’d prefer the bike but we have limited room in our workout room and I know my wife would use the tread way more. If I’d be willing to lift the rower or hang it when not in use I probably could. I assume the tread does incline? I couldn’t really find it online but I just took a quick glance.
It does incline and (the through my limited experience) it seems to be easier on the knees than most other threads I’ve used. If you have a showroom close I’d try to go in and try both.
Yes has a wheel and a jump button. There is also a free mode where you control the pace with your legs. I don't have one but use the app for runs on other treadmills and hear the instructors describe all the shit on the tread.
Also day 28 30 min best of the decade yoga flow 10 min chest and back foam roller with hannah. First one of those I've done, and oh man is it fantastic.
Yeah already mentioned but it does and second the showroom suggestion. Also if you have limited, not sure how limited, I would hold off a month. Supposedly they are announcing a smaller version of the tread which is less expensive and a rower (although they don’t have a booth at CES where everyone thought they would announce those). Granted that would probably be a fall release.
Awesome and thanks. Already have a concept rower but looking to replace the elliptical. It’s for my wife’s workout room so it’s only like 14’x14’
Ahh gotcha. Yeah probably wouldn’t matter all that much then outside of the cost (haven’t seen rumors on the dollar amount).
Sadly I will only get the silver medal achievement this month. I got extremely lazy last week and only rode once. I signed up for the 2020/2020 miles challenge which I am excited about.
12/27 Tunde best of the decade ride got weird. Started talking about all her family members that died this decade. did the 12/14 20 min pop ride with Cody and enjoyed it a lot. Seems a lot less touchy feely and does a good job of helping you pace your ride. Also smoked my wife on a ride with 273 kj to her 149 so that’s nice.
has anyone done the weight training program? i started this week (tomorrow would be day two) but i'm certain i'll get bored/tired of 30 minute classes.
Day 29 5 min pre-run 45 min core bootcamp with Speer 5 station weight circuit on my own Day 30 5 min core with bae 5 min pre 10 min HIIT run Heavy dumbbell press and rows 20 min chest and back with speer Day 31 45 min power yoga with yoga bae New month day 1 30 min yoga flow
I've done some 30 minute classes strength and yoga. The classes usually are well thought out and flow in a way that you stay engaged.
I am posting this here to keep me accountable and an easy place to look it up. This my current Peloton workout history. I am averaging about 900 workouts a year. My goal for 2020 is at least 1000 workouts. A combination of 1500 running miles and peloton bike rides. I hope to break that up by 1000 miles ran and 500 rides. Not using peloton ride miles because I think 1500 would be too easy to get. So far in 2020 I have 3 rides and two stretching workouts. So 997 more workouts and 1497 ride/miles to go.
I’ve had the bike now for three weeks and I’ve done ten rides and my wife has done one. Figured it would go that way. Really enjoy it even though I haven’t ridden a real bike in like 25 years. Alex and Denis are the only two instructors I have done so far.
Got on to ride this morning and system is down. Was able to get a core and foam roller class going on mobile app after many tries. Bike was a no go. Website says it's down.
AT’s live HIIT class is good, is it just the one demand classes ? It would be a shame if I couldn’t do the Olivia HIIT and hills class at 230. I’d be so depressed if I couldn’t do that.
I'm not home at the moment but just checked app and it looks to be back up. Had two beers with lunch but I may try to ride again when I get home. Just need some type of active recovery. I'm toast after the last couple days.
Any of you guys use a heart rate monitor? I go to F45 and their heart rate monitor has died on me after about a year and a half. Don’t want to buy another of their branded one.
I use a Polar chest strap HR monitor. I haven't used it for a year and a half though so I can't speak to its longevity.
highly recommend this one https://www.scosche.com/rhythm-plus-heart-rate-monitor-armband used the peloton one for maybe three weeks before realizing that a chest strap was dumb and impractical
I didn't phrase that well, I've only used it for a few weeks. I used a polar one before (several years ago) and it worked great, but I eventually lost it lol.
Round 3 of radiation was rough, but I had a good 45 min ride tonight and logged Ride 700 in my unique milestone style (during a cool down ride). 7,158 miles in two years. Hoping to be back to normal in 6-8 more months and and using this bike as much as I used to.
They released the 2019 year in reviews. Top 3 instructors for me: 1) Alex 2) Jess (dont sleep on those EDM/Trap rides) 3) Robin
PR'd a 20 minute ride last night. My 45/30/20min cycle is going nicely. I can feel myself getting stronger. I'm not really focused on PR's right now. Just trying to ride more and be consistent.
Any way you can send the screenshot of the breakdown for this ride? I'd be curious to see the average cadence, the graphs etc. Thanks!
