Who gives a shit if he can coach? It's Miss State. Outside of lightning in a bottle for a couple years with Dak, no one has even noticed them. Now, Miss State coaching press conferences are immediately much watch TV and honestly I expect most MSU alums to hate him which will funny by itself.. This is great for CFB. I mean, a now head football coach in the SEC tweeted this out a few days ago.
fuck, didn't know they hired him. Loved him saying he hoped Leach stayed there forever because he never changes anything and they know what he is going to do
Seems like it was part of the plan, as they've kept him around over other guys and kept giving him pay bumps, and then announced him at the same time Petersen stepped down.
Here even our tool sheds are neighbors. Just your typical mississippi neighborhood. Not my house. But down the street.
I’m excited and scared at the same time. Our guys better learn to catch fast. If he can get us to consistently 8-4,9-3 then he can be here for a while.
Gus Malzahn voice: "Chad is one of the better coaches in the country and boy he works his butt off. He really gives it his all and we need to make sure he gets plenty of input on the offense." *gets no input on the offense
He did very well at Alabama after that. That whole Dubose-Frachione-Price-Shula era seems unimaginable now.
Chad Morris Voice "well we gotta get to work. Its a new day, another game. We are all 0-0 every week and we just gotta get back to work and really get back to what we know we can do" *we are still trying to figure out what we could do for 2 years
Texas Tech had a .539 winning % in the 10 years before Leach. He had a .661 winning percentage during his tenure there. In the 10 seasons after they shitcanned him, they had a .480 winning percentage. Wazzou had a .405 winning % in the 10 seasons prior to the pirate arriving there. Leach had a .539 winning % in his time there. I'd say he's a pretty good coach.
Interesting for a UCF fan to talk up the SEC like that... Leach has only won 6 or fewer 4 times in his 18 year career.
Leach is a good coach and he has won at places that are hard to win at. That being said, for whatever reason, State has never been able to bring on receivers that are worth a damn outside of Eric Moulds.
I’m with Mix, thinks he’s a 4-8, 5-7, occasionally 7-5 guy. The division outside of Arkansas is as tough as it’s ever been.
I guess Mullen did upgrade their standards and maybe I should expect better but I just can't picture better than 4th-5th most seasons and unless something changes drastically he is finally in a league that plays defense and having to play Bama and LSU every year won't be fun. A&M is spending crazy money, Ole Miss is all in and a rival. Just seems crazy to expect him to win 8-9 a year there but be cool if he did.
With Leach now having increased exposure due to SEC association, this is a good time to once again remember the 5. #CJK5H
Its a great hire just don't think he can win much of anything there. Would be interesting to see what his system would look like at a top flight program filled with the best talent, sucks we will never get that.
I think he’s good for averaging 7-8 wins a year with a double digit season in there at some point, being incredibly annoying to play and winning a game or so he shouldn’t every other year or so. I think everyone who’s ever clanged a cowbell would be through the moon with that
Southern Cal too. Air Raid with 5* QB RB & WR. 4* OL Oklahoma, Washington State, and Southern Cal all top 15 offenses.
