so i'm watching the Sam vs Libertarians videos in Firefox (which is basically essentially incognito mode since I don't use it) and an ad for the fucking Epoch Times plays. YouTube is seriously infested with right wing ideology.
He got so mad about her comments wrt George W. Bush. That's one great thing that I've seen since I started watching him, he's still mad that basically nothing was done to hold Bush, Cheney, or anyone high up in that administration responsible for the thousands of deaths they caused. It's insane that we as a nation just gave up on that and completely don't remember those atrocities (well the media at least in large part).
Really been enjoying the few episodes of Trillbilly Workers Party lately. Just completely unproductive at work if I'm going to put this into my small podcast rotation.
Yall following this cenk stuff? CNN and NYT Cenk has a lot regrettable things he's said that you can report on you don't have to lie and say he supports David Duke.
It’s pretty ridiculous and I cannot stand TYT. Cenk was mocking him the whole time. Now Tapper and the CNN crew are attacking Hasan. These truly are the worst people.
You can read the thread for the now deleted tweets and smears. I know it's Playboy not the NYT but these people are fucking shameless.
Bit the bullet and subscribed to the Trillbillies patreon since they could use the money a lot more than the Chapo people. They're not a polished, but Tarence and Tom are very entertaining.
Also they just put out an episode where they interviewed Charles Booker who is more of a leftist candidate (supports the GND and M4A) and, god willing, will beat Amy McGrath in being the Democratic nominee to run against McConnell. Made a very good point about if there's going to be talk of a GND then they need someone who actually is a person that supports this who is from a state where tons of supposed coal workers could benefit from a jobs program.
Probably more appropriate for this thread, but jesus lord is Nina Turner awesome. She is never not passionate and if you can't get fired up listening to her then you must not have a soul.
Is Nina Turner the person who got in the DCCC then ripped them a new ass on how 2016 funds were used?
I'm not sure if it was the DCCC, but yes she is the genesis of Doughnut Twitter which chastised her for being a progressive and she claimed they tried to placate her and her group with doughnuts and water, the whole story of which is fairly racist if you dig into it. It's insane to me people would lean into it, but there are huge pieces of shit still on twitter that proudly use the doughnut emoji to I guess show anger at Bernie for daring to run in 2016.
Can you walk me through this better. I never really understood doughnut twitter. Also, I would like to understand when doughnuts are racist. thank you.
Lord, her interview starts at the 52:00 and is only about a half hour. Skip to around 59:00 when they being it up. I'm just going to watch that and re-write a summary of it, you'd be better served listening to them.
https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/...binch-a-guide-to-weird-leftist-internet-slang "Donut": In the middle of everyone yelling about the word "corncob," BuzzFeed published an article about the conflict between Nina Turner, who runs a Bernie Sanders–founded political activist group called Our Revolution, and the DNC. Turner described a moment where she went to the DNC headquarters to deliver a petition supporting the "People's Platform," but was angry at what she saw as a frosty reception. From BuzzFeed: A spread of donuts and water had also been set up for the Our Revolution party. Turner took particular issue with the donuts and water, which she called "hand-out trinkets." "They tried to seduce us with donuts and water," she said. "They're pompous and arrogant enough to say to the people, 'You're not good enough to be on our property — and, oh by the way, we're just gonna hand you donuts and water over the barricade.' That is insulting. Absolutely insulting." After liberals began criticizing Turner on Twitter for her rejection of the DNC's donuts (and for engaging in what they saw as a publicity stunt), a new meme was born. Jen Kirkman, a comedian who frequently finds herself battling with Twitter leftists over her unique disdain for Bernie Sanders—she recently made waves when she wrote in a now-deleted tweet, "Bernie is a KNOWING chaos agent paid by Russia in 2016 election"—got in on the donut fun as well. Edit: They refer to this article opinion article too, where a white man more or less lectures Nina Turner, a black woman, about the civil rights movement. https://thedailybanter.com/2017/08/10/nina-turners-inferior-donuts/
Just started this, but Lula is basically Michael Brooks's hero. They talk about a variety of international and political topics like the UN Security Council, Uber, and Brazil's history since 2010.
