marchand almost did not make team canada as a 19 years old in junior because of his attitude, he was snubbed by team canada for a while as a pro after that too. Dude made a lot of enemies and not just with opponents. It’s not a projection.
So your argument is that he almost didn’t make (i.e. made) two world juniors teams and that he didn’t start making team Canada as a pro until he was an international caliber NHL player in 2016. Projection. There is a reason the cliche a player you hate playing against but love on your team exists and it applies to both Marchand and Tkachuk.
Sure, let’s stop this right now because I won’t change your mind. But that cliche is a bunch of shit, when was the last time you heard someone come out in the media and say that they hated to play on the same team as so and so? And it definitely happens all the time just like you hate working with some people
Sure, but we all have friends who do idiot/fucked up things sometimes. As long as they’re not dipshits, they’re still our friends. I’m guessing it’s the same for guys like Marchand.
it’s exactly the same thing but when the same guy calls you 3 Friday nights in a row from jail to go pick him up, maybe the second time you have a talk with him...and the third time you tell him to fuck off. He will still be your friend but you just don’t go to bat for a guy that can’t be responsible.
You can’t possess two sticks at once, and you are allowed to clear loose equipment out of your way if it’s your own teammates. Not sure about this specifically though.
you are right unless the rule changed. A player cannot pick another stick but shoving it out of the way is fine....unless the ref sees you shoving it away so a player from the other team can’t pick up his stick, that is unsportsmanlike. that was not a penalty grey area would,be if he did the same thing but to purposefully hit a guy in the head with the loose stick. Probably unsportsmanlike and more after a meeting.
One is Huberdeau but I saw that on twitter today. Ovi Thornton Seem obvious Bill karlsson kinda does as well Stamkos? I can’t remember how long St. Louis/lecavlier played for them. Wheeler is my last guess if we’re not counting previous franchise iterations
One of my favorite pieces of hockey trivia/knowledge. Everyone knows Lindros was traded to Philly after the draft for a King’s ransome. But the deal that the Rangers made for him and thought they had agreed to beforehand and was ruled against their favor by an arbitrator- might have been even more ridiculous: Tony Amonte Alexei kovalev Doug Weight John Vanbiesbrouck + 3 first round picks
Transactions back in the 90s were wild. Seemed like these massive earth shattering trades happened all the time. Same with arbitration awards. Scott Stevens getting awarded to the Devils for no reason other than an aribtrator deciding it was fair game after they paid 5 first round picks to sign him the year prior.
