This multiple timelines shit is done to death. They should fucking quit it and just tell the story. Watching episode 1 now, it wasn't needed. Also the mcmillions doc should be pretty good, just hope they cover the other fraudulent stuff that group was doing
So the thing in the hoodie is the outsider, right? Whatever that means. Didn't read the book or spoilers. Enjoyed it, will keep watching.
That's what I'm assuming. I don't know if it's some kind of shapeshifter and framed the guy or what. I can't really make heads or tails of it yet.
Didn't realize this and Mr Mercedes were airing at about the same time. Not about to get Att service to watch it though.
The weekly release is the only thing stopping me from knocking out 3 episodes per night. I'm really enjoying it so far. It reminds me of true detective with a scifi twist
As much as I hate waiting I kind of like the weekly release. Makes for better conversation about the show.
If I wasn’t a internet nerd I’d just want to binge everything. But since most people are internet nerds these days and dive into internet discourse, podcasts ect - I’m glad it’s a weekly release. The binge show are cool for a week then no one ever talks about them again
So this thing attaches to you and makes u do crash shit to appease it Is that what we are thinking is going on because Bateman seemed fine at the hotel whereas the gay brother from Ozark here is losing it
Think it may be more of a duplication/doppelgänger thing than just controlling the host and making them do messed up shit but I could be wrong.
I think that's the opposite of what's going on here. Everything we've so far has literally been about how the real Terry Maitland was nowhere near the crime.
somehow mimics or duplicates people in order to get away with killing & feasting on humans, which it needs in order to survive or remain young/keep from rapidly aging
we thinking it attached itself to maitlands father who’s doppelgänger did whatever the detectives were investigating him for then jumped to the hospital worker who’s doppelgänger killed the two girls then that hospital worker has that altercation with mainland where he “cut him” and it jumped onto mainland which caused his doppelgänger to kill Peterson now it jumps onto the cop in the barn?
I hadn’t thought about it that closely but the way they emphasized Terry being cut could very well foreshadow the way it moves or transfers.
This show is creepy as fuck. Also i dont think its doing the same thing to that detective that it did when it copied those others in order to kill.
Definitely something different. But whatever it is did scratch that guy that works at the strip club. So he'll probably be up to something before long.
Show is great. No idea what the plan is for the detective but I’m sure we will find out soon enough. Lol @ the awkward security dude’s cheesy pickup lines (that actually worked).
Also I had never heard of that myth before but it probably would have terrified me as a child. Spoiler https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coco_(folklore)
Yea the whole romantic connection seemed weird and forced but it's a very minor complaint, loving the show so far
Strip club owner is going to kill the injured detective’s newborn. Hasn’t been any kids introduced and the infected detective writes something down during her party announcement.
Unless it’s just something random there’s a reason why it had the infected detective write down something while she was talking. It could be Maitlands kids since it likes to ruin entire families.
Without giving anything away (and I'm not going to go looking), is this 1 season about 1 book and that's the story? Or is it something that could continue if successful enough?
It’s not a series. It’s just a stand alone novel. But if it’s successful there’s always ways to extend the story. Handmaids Tale, Man in the High Castle, Big Little Lies are all single books/stories that they kept the story going past the book
Biggest surprise for me is how fast the show is moving in relation to the book. Bateman's character didn't die until almost a third into the book iirc. And it happened 20% in on the show. Holly is involved much quicker too. Makes me wonder about the back half of the season.
What’s fucking fantastic about this show right now, especially after episode 4, is we’re slowly witnessing the demise and misery in the wake of this THINGS impact on families. We just saw multiple families destroyed and now we’re agonizing over the remaining Maitland family members falling apart. I fucking hope they stop the cycle. This thing purposely interjects suffering to the remains family members. It’s whispering hateful shit to the daughter. The children are it’s main course, but the suffering is its dessert.
