I mean it’s vegas all our group does is gamble and drink and then take a little break here and there for a diversion
The SLS Casino & Resort has been rebranded as The Sahara. Which is what it was before it was SLS. The original Sahara closed in 2011 for modernization and reopened in 2014 as SLS...a truly nice property. The location has hurt them, and probably will continue to do so until other projects are developed in the vicinity.
I wish they’d finish fountainbleau. I pitched tony hsieh to buy it once. Obviously wasn’t a great pitch.
The Drew is named after the founder of the Witkoff Group, Steve Witkoff's, deceased 22-year-old son, Andrew Witkoff, who died of an OxyContin overdose in 2011.
https://www.fodors.com/world/north-...brity-chef-restaurants-on-the-las-vegas-strip There are 3 Aria restaurants listed, and I love all 3 of them.
Going out in 2 weeks for NFL Championship weekend which coincides with the Mcgregor fight, how crazy should we expect the strip to be?
Im leaning heavy cheap as you can get, but I always listen to value. Hopefully I’m not in my room much.
No and no. I’d like a pool. Couldn’t care less about age group if it’s going to influence the price. Group of dudes celebrating our 30th. I’d just like to gamble on a budget and go out by the pool. Not interested in the clubs or being a foody. Maybe get a show if there’s something that catches my eye. I’m aiming for May 15 weekend. Probably Friday till Monday.
Flamingo comes to mind as well. Tbh if you’re not super concerned with property and you are ok paying ahead use Hotwire and look for strip, ave casino amenities at or above 3*
https://vegas.eater.com/2019/12/10/21002429/las-vegas-eater-awards-2019-winners Announcing this year’s best new restaurants, design of the year, and bar of the year. Good read for those of you going to Vegas soon.
You’re SOL, most likely. The Electric Daisy Carnival is 5/14-17. Most of the town is probably already booked. Anything not booked is going to be much, much higher than normal. On the flip side, EDC weekend provides a very interesting visual and social scene.
Just got my Wednesday night plane ticket for Vegas. Spirit for $56 Can’t decide on leaving Saturday or Sunday. Could leave Saturday at 830pm or leave Sunday 330pm. Saturday is $100 cheaper Question, if I leave Saturday night at 830 will most of the games be over by then? Since I think wvu will be in the tourney it would be nice to not have to worry about missing a game
Sounds like they’re selling MGM Grand and Mandalay off, but continuing to operate them. https://www.fox5vegas.com/news/mgm-...cle_5aa4c864-36d9-11ea-8595-5ba94b484225.html
This is just corporate structuring - fairly common (don’t know why this sticks out, but all Olive Gardens went through this process); nothing will change operationally.
Some tax shenanigans having to do with being able to depreciate the buildings and the operator paying rent to itself
did it for my bachelor party last year. Was absolutely amazing. So much degeneracy all around. Place was absolutely jam packed though. Impossible to find a table to play at and the hotel rates were sky high. Absolutely going to be a thing I do every couple years though.
They’ve already done that with Bellagio. They would sell Aria too, except that they only own half of it. MGM spun off MGM Growth Properties es about 3 years ago. It was explained to us employees that it was done so that we could sell properties to ourselves.
It just frees up billions of dollars in cash. They don't own the land anyone, they lease it from the REIT.
Darden restaurants did this yes. They spun off 500 olive gardens and longhorns if I remember the number correctly. Ironically for Darden financial reporting purposes it’s kind of null and void now because of the new leasing standard. Not an expert on what the tax implications are. I did the first year audit of the spinoff Darden company Four Corner Property’s trust.
Going back to Vegas for a bachelor party during nfl draft weekend. I assume it’s going to be a circus there
MGM was packed. Impossible to find a table that had open spots and the ones that did usually had a few newbie players doing random shit like staying on 14 against a 10
Strategy hardos are the worst. Let people play how they play. Nobody passed you a 3 or took your ace.
