YES I mean how could anyone say no a description like this: And What Nature Gives...Nature Takes Away is a Membranes LP in the grand tradition, chronicling ruminations about rooks, starlings, death, classical myth, Victorian gothic, prog, flowers, cunning women, Japanese monkeys, the North Sea, and West Lancashire. Sonically, the listener can actively map the band tramping the soggy Marches between prog, psych and punk.
Got one you may like. Not even sure how I came across them, may have been a shitty list, maybe not? Anyhow no vocals but that’s sometimes great for me as background while trying to get some work completed. Yndian Mynah, not a ton on YouTube but Spotify has whole albums, etc. Hope you enjoy.
NPR’s best albums of 2019 https://www.npr.org/2019/12/17/788715692/npr-music-staff-picks-the-best-albums-of-2019 also bob boilen was a huge dick to me
Gum Takes Tooth was mentioned on quite a few "best of lists" I saw from individual musicians. I need to check them out
The Comet is Coming makes their Tiny Desk debut did not realize they were just a 3 piece, and I really appreciate synth guy's weird energy
Just came across them via my radio on Spotify just the other day and yeah, knocked my dick off. So good.
Definitely excited to see what the future holds for these guys. I can see how people would be turned off by the vocals, but I think they add a fitting charm to the music.
So apparently, in 2017, the dude from Warm Soda married a lady from Bosnia who converted him to the alt right, moved to Austin, and started an alt right psych band called Dream Machine? The band was quickly dropped from Castle Face at that time. The couple now makes alt right YouTube videos. I'm not sure how I missed that, probably because of my lack of social media and general disdain for music blogs. What the fuck...didn't see that one coming.
Vocals remind me-ish of Andrew Savage or Ben Hozie from Bodega. Just if they did more singy stuff instead of borderline spoken word. I also could be talking out of my ass on this one.
guy's voice sounds a bit like Savage to me for sure, especially right off the bat. But then it's a pretty different delivery and they seem to get much heavier/louder than anything I've heard from Parquet Courts those dudes can't be old enough to drink in the US one more Algiers single before their new album drops... We Can't Be Found Spoiler

that latest Soccer Mommy single has 1.2K thumbs up on YouTube and 11 thumbs down she is the shit. And that video was pretty cool, some solid skating good. Your contributions are much appreciated. I can't count how many bands I've started listening to because of suggestions from this thread over the years and you've been a huge part of that
