That's really the only thing I don't mind being spoiled but don't want to take the risk reading and having the rest of it spoiled for me.
I’m shocked to be writing this statement, but the Harley Quinn animated series on DC Universe is really, really good. Completely not what I expected in the best way possible.
Birds of Prey is rated R for Strong violence and language throughout, and some sexual and drug material.
I hope he means they won't be doing the Aquaman/WW War thing. We'd been led to believe that Warner Bros. had decided to scrap plans for the first solo Flashmovie to adapt the popular Flashpoint comic book storyline, but director Andy Muschietti has now confirmed that his film will indeed borrow elements from that reality-altering tale - although it doesn't sound like it's going to be anything close to a direct adaptation. That Hashtag Show caught up with Muschietti after he was done moderating a cast panel for the upcoming horror flick Underwater, and he revealed that The Scarlet Speedster's solo adventure will present a “different version of Flashpoint than you’re expecting.”
That looks terrible. With that said, Suicide Squad had great trailers, and the movie was trash. Maybe this will be the opposite?
Not sure how many of you follow the CW “Arrowverse” on TV, but WB officially tied their film and TV properties together last night with one of the more surprise cameos I can remember.
I saw Birds of Prey last night. It was entertaining. Pretty short movie. It was John Wick meets Deadpool.
Fun movie. Honestly, this is probably how Suicide Squad should’ve been. Surprising amount of “Oh shit!” Moments Spoiler - Black Canary, really like her character - Group fight scene at the amusement park was awesome - Black Mask getting blown up was fucking hilarious
All the set pieces were clever and fun. The John Wick stunt coordinator or choreographer or whatever apparently oversaw that aspect of the movie. Plot was really slight and the editing was really bad for the first two acts
The R rating and almost nonexistent marketing campaign probably ensures its gonna end up a box office flop.
Marketing definitely wasn't done very well. I didn't even realize it was out last weekend until I saw people talking about it being a flop.
I have little to no expectations. Margot with a pet Hyena, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Ewan McGregor (hopefully) hamming it up
I didn't even need the R-Rating. Other than Black Mask's death scene (which was awesome and might've survived the PG13 rating), the rest could have been toned down with minimal effort.
It’s not a terrible movie, but it certainly isn’t very good. Outside of critics not wanting to bash what is essentially the first female ensemble comic book movie, I don’t know why it is sitting so high on scores at 80%.
Harley Quinn was the worst part of the movie. The Birds of Prey had a great little origin story going that was constantly interrupted by Harley's obnoxious plot. Also whoever decided that the movie should simply be act two and three, with act one merely being doled out in flashback forms should be barred from Hollywood. If you can't put together a story in the most basic way, on the most fundamental level, you need to go back to being a bartender.
Lol the opening weekend BO was so bad that WB are now changing the title of the film (Its now going to be called Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey) Apparently their theory was not enough people knew this was a film about Harley Quinn. (yea that ain't it)
Movie shouldn't have been R rated, it basically cut their biggest target demographic (teen-tween and millennial girls) by at least 2/3.
