They took GoW off PSNow and now I can’t play it anymore without buying it? wtf... Edit: This was my first foray into PSN. I’m sad now.
I kept debating dropping the difficulty to finish the fight and told myself I would consider it at around 50 deaths. I can’t even imagine how impossible she would be on the highest difficulty level.
Regular Sigrun took me around 10 tries, GMGoW Sigrun took me like....30-40 hours, mine, BlazingRebel CUtigers 's journey were documented a few pages back on when we first attempted GMGoW Sigrun.
I stopped at re-establishing the light where the dark elves are So I’m assuming there’s a massive amount of post-game/story content? I’m approaching numerous doors/chests that I’m not able to open
Not a massive amount but you’ll acquire the requisite skills prior to the ending sequence. You can go back and finish everything after the ending, though. Because Sigrun is the one true ending. And revisiting the cabin, obviously.
It's got a bit of a metroidvania style to it where you can come back to certain things. That being said try and exhaust yourself wrt whatever area you're in to try and solve certain puzzles
Gotcha. I enjoyed that in Jedi fallen order and I’m already liking the puzzles that involve throwing the axe, so hopefully more of that type of stuff.
I need to go back and open those rifts that bring out the powerful enemies. Those guys whooped my ass every time I tried them during the story. Only attempted one Valkyrie.
In terms of difficulty, the story is basically the combat tutorial, the rifts (especially when you're underleveled) / valks are the actual content.
Yea I apparently missed one rift until after I beat the game and it was absolutely fucking comical. Those bitches came out hot making noise like they were gonna do shit and they were gone in less than five seconds.
Considering it took me 30 minutes to kill the bitch I'd say it took about 15-20 total hours I cant name how many times I got her down to one final bar.
I remember about 15 hours in after I memorized literally all of her attack patterns then out of nowhere she busts out something completely different, I think that swoop dive thing after a pattern that should have been a block/parryable slash and I just started yelling "BULLSHIT" at my TV and throw the controller.
Trying to figure out how to combat her stupid swing Aoe was a bitch. Time stop had to be perfect can't name how many times that shit killed me.
Still my favorite game and I didn’t destroy controllers or my living room trying to play GMGOW difficulty. Also have the same platinum you guys have.
I played on the difficulty below GMGOW and it was a beating especially during trials/valks. As much as I enjoy a challenge I think GMGOW is out of my area code from a patience standpoint. I do think it’s bad ass these guys beat it on that difficulty tho and I have to imagine it ranks fairly fuckin high on their gaming achievements.
Outside of a few trials and Sigrun and maybe a few of the Dark Elves parts, the hardest part of GMGoW is start, the game actually gets easier as you progress through. The starting part with no gear no skills and a level 1 axe is just pure torture though.
I’m a fuccboi so I’m doing the second easiest difficulty I may consider bumping it up when I have a better grasp of combos and upgrades
Just play it on whatever difficulty you enjoy. Don't let these masochists get in your head. The best thing about the game is the story. It's incredible.
That's the thing though, the story is amazing, but so is the gameplay. This was a damn near perfect game.
Oh I agree, but getting bogged down to the point you can't complete the game is not enjoyable for some. I think I played on the one above regular. Whatever that is called. The game is long enough without dragging it out even longer.
Who in here has platinumed on GMGOW? I'm stuck on the trials. Haven't played in months but might give it another go
My wife had a story the other day from one of her groups (she’s a speech therapist at an underprivileged middle school). The exercise was to name a character from popular media and to just talk about them with the group. 1 of the kids started talking about the World Serpent but he couldn’t remember where he’d seen it so my wife interjected with “God of War?” and now these kids think she’s the hottest shit in school.
I also played on a reasonable difficulty (I think the 3rd level). I don’t get a ton of time to play these games, so when I do I don’t want to spend most of the time dying and slogging. I’m there for the story, no shame.
Yea I get it, but finding ways of either cheesing, brute forcing or just outplaying a mob group or a particular boss in this game on the highest difficulty was probably the most fun I've had since I've first played Diablo 1 back in 2000 when I first experienced computer gaming.
I just need all the ravens to get the platinum but I don't feel like scavanger hunting and I don't know which ones I have and which ones I need so its a nightmare
