Reece is going to be so good. If we had wingers and/or a goal scoring central midfielder who could make the right runs we would be able to actually benefit from his beautiful crosses. Michy makes the wrong run constantly. Tammy is the only player who can seem to put himself in the right position to do anything about those crosses when they play together.
That was a great save on the Barkley header but so disappointing to watch michy just standing there ball watching and then react 2 seconds later and be just too late at tapping in the rebound. Michy just isn’t good enough even to be a backup.
Chelsea’s XG (expected goals) scored at home is 22 and XG conceded is 8.5. Actual goals is 11 and 10 conceded. That’s an absolutely insane spread that is likely not sustainable. 7.75 points lower than what would be expected based on play. You could point to the fact that our wingers haven’t done a good enough job in front of goal as a cause as well.
This is the kind of game where we drop points. Burnley stay compact, we possess forever, don't really threaten. Hopefully Mount and Barkely in the midfield 3 can provide more going forward than Kovacic and Kante.
Yeah I think we did well in both reviews. Tammy could have kept their goal on and the Willian heavy touch was bad. Made contact though.
I am so nervous on all set pieces. Kepa is a really bad set piece keeper and we don’t have a dominant CB. Another one where we almost give up a goal. Christensen gets absolutely destroyed on that play.
We need to stop playing Christensen. He’s just not good enough. We don’t need Nathan ake unless it’s more as a LB/3 man D CB. We need a true commanding CB.

The club REALLY need to buy another keeper in the summer. Kepa is just not good enough. In other news, Reece James has to start whenever possible.
I think a dominate CB will help Kepa more than anything. We’ve just had so much fluidity since Terry hung his boots up that we haven’t had a keeper get any rapport with a back line.
That’s fair and I’m not ready to give up completely but he’s underperformed by nearly every metric and if the club want to push for something beyond 3rd/4th best, then that’ll need to change.
we won’t be able to sign u18 players from around Europe anymore after brexit. I think that does away with that exception. Wouldn’t he surprised if we jam a few more in this window while we still can.
Mount has been bad. Willian has been atrocious. who would we even sub in if we wanted to take one of them out? Our backup strikers suck and Pedro is far short on fitness and has been bad all year. With pulisic hurt there isn’t any attacker worth playing off the bench.
