It wasn’t spoiled per se, he was just a dark figure but it was pretty obvious and definitely lessened the moment of you saw that trailer.
plus him fighting them, they showed basically everything in that scene except for him catching the spear
Thor showing up in Wakanda was way better The stakes were higher and it was just a much cooler way to show up If you disagree you are dumb and probably one of those people who incorrectly think IM3 wasn’t a masterpiece
FYI: I hadn’t watched a single Marvel movie since Iron Man 1 until a flight back from PA in September where I watched...Endgame. Since, I’ve watched every single movie (except for the two new Spider-Man movies) and enjoyed the fuck out of them all.
Many great moments but this is legitimately the only moment that made me jump out of my seat. Knew Cap spear was coming, Avengers Assemble is #2 but man the tenseness of everything going to shit before Thor arrived made the payoff so great. The look of fear on Próxima Midnights face was so great
Yeah. He’s been suped up a few times like every character ever but the coolest thing about him is that he needs no powers. He’s just a super genius at manipulation. When Thanos attacked Earth he sent the Maw to take care of Strange and just by talking to him he was able to turn him into his puppet.
Definitive ranking: 1. Thor to Wakanda 2. Cap wielding Mjolnir 3. Every second from “On your left” to “Avengers Assemble”
In reality, limiting it to 3 is just doing a disservice like favorite drunken dirtball carpet bombing of posts
Thor’s arrival in Ragnarok Avengers assembling in NYC We are Groot Vision born A different scale: Finding out SHIELD is HYDRA Keaton is Liz’s father
Cap and Mjolnir got me out of my seat. My son went absolutely bonkers for Black Panther's arrival out if the portal.
Sucks when Marvel does it because it’s all about marketing. However, they have so much capital with the fans they don’t need to do it anymore.
Hopefully the trend the Russo’s started with the misdirection trailers becomes a mainstay. Also the discussion about the Cap spear catch. I remember someone posted a video of ScarJo (I think) on GMA the day of the premier and they showed the majority of that fight in a clip.
They did it with Ragnarok. If they don't show the Hulk entrance six months before in a teaser trailer, that's easily a top 5 MCU moment. It still is, IMO.
Felt like the IW trailer gave away too much. Endgame trailers were great. Literally 90% was the first 15 mins. That being said, Cap trying to stop Thanos with every ounce of his being in the IW trailer had me hyped as hell.
I still remember watching IM1 and afterwards telling everyone that I read online there’s a plan and they were going to do an Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America movie and in like 5 years they’d do an Avengers movie with all of them. One of my wife’s dumb friends was all “there’s no way they’re planning movies 5 years from now, that’s dumb.” Who’s dumb now ya ignorant fuck?
my thought process was “yeah they’ll TRY to do an [insert hero here] movie, but c’mon it won’t be any good”
I love you all as I’m drunk about to get on the Guardians of the Galaxy ride at California Adventure.
spiderman 3 xmen 3 fantastic 4: the silver surfer real murderers row of marvel films prior to Ironman
I’m throwing in “I’m always angry” as a top 8 scene/line If you disagree, DM me your address so I can deliver you these hands
Where did this lie in regards to Ragnarok, Ghost Busters, Vacation or those Thor + Darryl online vids?
That trailer might be the best trailer I've ever seen for a movie (only other one I can think of is the first GotG). It definitely helped them build a buzz for franchise that was lacking. I don't blame them for that one. It didn't ruin the moment. It just didn't have the impact that some others had since we had already seen it.
He was funny in the first Thor, too. I think as time went on they realized the caliber of actors they had with Hemsworth and Evans and allowed them to take control of the characters in a way they didn't in the first part of the MCU. Cap was a square until the Russo brothers let him carry the character elsewhere in WS. Thor was stuck being a serious character with funny one-liners until Taika gave him the keys in Ragnarok.
