I never understood the “3 or 4 nights is way too many!” You don’t have to get hammered every night and there’s plenty of things to do to pace yourself
I just love Vegas and like to spend as much time as possible despite my bank accounts wishes. I can’t smoke because of work but I imagine even just spending a night smoking and walking around aimlessly would be pretty fun too
More than likely, due to work or other responsibilities, most can only get to Vegas at most for a long weekend. So, they hit it hard.
I've actually turned into somewhat of an early riser in Vegas and I love it. I'm usually out of the room by 7 or 8. Nothing is crowded then, table minimums are lower, it's nice doing whatever I want without dealing with crowds or too many hammered people. I'll end up in bed around midnight and do it again. Of course I'm not a huge club or strip club guy, I'm there mainly to gamble and drink.
I made the mistake of playing craps at a table that was right by the doors that exit to the strip. Watching the sun slowly rise as I lost my money wasn’t a great feeling.
Definitely agree with this now. That's part of the reason our favorite hotel is Vdara; not having to fight through crowds in a casino to get outside is nice, plus even the cheapest rooms are a little nicer than other properties.
Yeah, Vdara was awesome. Got a little nervous it was too far off the Strip based on looking at Google Maps, but it wasnt bad at all. Hope to stay there again next time I go.
park mgm or mirage small increase in price would get Vdara if worth only gamble a little, mostly going to eat, pool, and walk around for a few days
Mirage for me. Park is in a better location, but I have a serious soft spot for the mirage. Mirage should also be a little better priced. Last I knew mirage pool is much better. Vdara is very nice from what I hear. A little out of the way, but quiet. Best location, more or less next to Park.
Vdara doesn't have a casino and is generally an older crowd, meaning the pool should be less chaotic; we've even had the pool to ourselves there before. Connected to Bellagio via covered walkway or Aria directly across the drop off. You can catch the free rail down to Park/NYNY from Bellagio which is very nice when you need it
Cosmo is right next to it also, and a pedestrian bridge to take you over Las Vegas Blvd without having to wait for the traffic signal.
whats the best way to get from Mirage/Palazzo to Park MGM area that side having the good craft beer bars is enticing me to stay down there but also might just take the bus down in the morning and work my way back north through the day
Absolutely the Mirage imo. Would also cosign on whoever it was that said get out of your room early. Walking the strip at 7 a.m. is magical. No one is out except for the most trashed burnouts imaginable stumbling back to their rooms.
A few years back we were out there for a weekend and I was going to wake up and get to the sports book right when it opened at 8am or so to make some bets for the 9am games. I needed to use my fiancee's phone and set the alarm for 7:30. Something weird happened where the time zone got messed up and it thought we were still in central, so that alarm went off at 5:30am. Me being half asleep and not thinking anything of it rolled out of bed and gathered all my stuff to get to the book. It was the strangest crowd I've seen while I was walking through the casino and I couldn't figure out why. Finally get there and see a clock that shows it's actually before 6am and these are all the people still going from the night before. Very strange people watching as I made my way back to my room
Early morning out and about on the strip or Fremont is great. Peaceful. Grab a beer and some breakfast and stroll slowly.
committing to the mirage thank you. will be there next week. Momofuku/Majordomo/Best Friend/Tacos El Gordo/Eggslut are the short list of places I wish to eat. Thought about e by jose andres but not sure we're up for that this trip. Not sure Bacchanal is worth it.
I'll tell ya something else while we're at it. I wish casinos gave better odds. They should cut the house edge down some so we have a better shot at winning some money.
Resort fees: You’re going to go gamble at least that much per hand for 6-12 hours plus booze, food, and weed. Just deal with it. It’s a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of your trip. I don’t like it, but I don’t worry about it.
resort fees should be outlawed, is quite a bit of support for it in congress just nonsense hidden fees
Forgot to mention...I assume you're aware but am making sure, M Life will status match your Hyatt level. If you're Explorist that gets you gold M Life tier, which should open up some upgrades at check in
Will definitely be hitting momofuku in April when I’m there. I don’t think we have anything else planned except for brunch at bardot on Saturday
