this board needs an urban planning, transportation infrastructure, smart growth type thread, imo. There would be some overlap* with this massive thread, of course, but interesting discussion topics get lost here. (*basically every major transportation decision made in the last 150 years - dismantling cities' mass transit systems and building the Federal highway system, for instance - led us in some way (insert Charlie from Always Sunny graph here) to where we are with the 2 Americas Trump Administration) Spoiler for DC
I read the article and it is interesting but I think a little off on the conclusion. If only because it is only looking at two expense classes and median income while ignoring all other costs. All together Houston is less expensive than New York but no major city is truly inexpensive.
He's spitting hot fire but what a fucking hypocrite, continuing to count himself a shareholder, and an enthusiastic one at that.
I say this every year but the whitewashing of MLK's legacy is one of the great examples of how much contempt we have for our own history in this country Everyone will read about his I Have a Dream speech and talk about what a great uniter he was, but nothing will be said about him threatening to shut down the federal government via massive civil disobedience
Yeah, I've never understood why there's resistance to having Hunter Biden testify if it gets you the actual witnesses. It's gonna be a shit show either way. At least get the real info out in the open.
Probably because Hunter is a massive fuck up. It also lends credibility to their ridiculous accusations.
This is my shocked face. The turtle is the worst thing to ever happen to this country. Kentucky should be kicked out of the Union.
I think so. Even if Hunter is guilty of everything they claim (lol) it doenst change the fact that Trump basically resorted to vigilantism to investigate Biden and abused the power of the office to pressure foriegn investigations for personal gain. There could have been an official DOJ investigation, but he didnt this sneaky shit on the side. If you call Biden to the stand, the GOP will use that as vindication of Guliani and Trumps efforts, when what Hunter did or didnt do has no bearing on the validity of the articles of impeachment.
It's truly a testament to Mitch's insidiousness that even when you know he's going to subvert democracy and the constitution, he still somehow clears the already high bar of bullshit you think he's capable of pulling off.
I’d call their bluff on Hunter Biden. The last thing these dipshits want is for the proceedings to continue indefinitely. By the time they investigated matters to either corroborate or debunk anything Hunter says its only going to extend matters for months. Go ahead and make the trade.
Any sane person knows Hunter has zero to do with the impeachment. Let the chuds froth over it while Bolton slams the door imo
So not only won’t we get witnesses, but the senate gets to choose what evidence already uncovered actually gets entered into the record and Trumps team said that in the unlikely event of conviction they won’t honor it because it is unconstitutional. This is crazy.
If i was innocent of a crime and the public defenders office assigned me pam bondi and Doug Collins I would confess to killing Hoffa, jon benet, and oj’s wife just get out of having those two fucking idiots represent me and somehow the leader of the free world chose them for his defense
If they try to get through this without calling witnesses, it’s probably time to hit the streets this weekend, right? I feel like massive protests are needed to draw attention to it.
It’s much worse than that. They may reject old evidence and not admit it and they are only allowing 2 days starting at 1PM 12 hours a day of arguments. Meaning this will go until 1AM the earliest, while everyone is sleeping. I feel like the Democrats should sue over the process and ask for an injunction until the process gets resolved. This makes a mockery over the idea of impeachment.
Do you actually need grounds anymore? Seriously though, it’s obstruction of justice. Rules that don’t allow for evidence in a trial seems against the principles of due process that has been established throughout our history. I am sure the founders did not intend for there to be an impeachment trial where evidence wasn’t allowed.
In case you haven't been paying attention, the turtle doesn't give a fuck about our flimsy institutions
Right, which is why I am suggesting taking it to the courts. I wouldn’t suggest appealing that to Turtle man. That makes no sense since they are his rules.
Oh and btw, I am giving you your rules for the trial on the eve of the trial. Now go figure out what you are going to say and your strategy.
Shit, just fucking impeach him again. Give him the title of most-impeached president in American history
