With they way you bad mouth him I don't think anyone believes your stupid ass was saying it as a figure of speech. He carried OU to the playoffs and was a class act but for some stupid reason you continue to bad mouth the kid.
a. he was a jackass the entire time at oklahoma b. laughing my fucking ass at carrying them to the playoffs c. players are glad he is gone dude. he sucks. get over it
Good to know we have another poster with zero football knowledge here. Takes a big man to out yourself like that. It's ok, I'm sure people really value your opinions on other subjects.
Whatever helps you sleep at night buddy. Stalk dbl some more if you are gonna try and be like him, you're not doing a good job of it.
This guys hate boner for Jalen is amazing. He probably honestly thinks Rattler should have been starting and would have gotten OU into the playoffs.
... is this supposed to be a burn? because it’s very likely that happens and you are really fucking stupid if you think i am the only one with that opinion
I'm asking you to cite where the players that voted him captain before the season are happy he's now gone.
Don't forget he's not the only one that thinks Rattler should have started and would have had OU in the playoffs. I'm sure he got that opinion from rivals.
you want me to cite all of the rumors that have been coming out? members of the media making comments under their breath about not having to deal with him anymore? there are numerous insiders that have hinted at the team being relieved he is gone. there were several incidents down the stretch of receivers yelling at him on the sidelines. he was not a good qb and came off like he was hot shit. his message got old and stale. but he’s gone, season doesn’t matter so who cares. he’ll go in like the 6th round and be a taysom hill lite for about 3 seasons
why are you defending him? this whole alabama thing is ridiculous. he wasn’t ever good for y’all either haha
I mean he did go for 5,000 yards and 50 TD's while finishing 2nd in the Heisman. Calling that "not good" is ignorant but you do you. I was merely asking you to cite your claims of players being happy he is gone. Your reply could have been shortened to "Rivals message board."
This is not far removed from those "saban has to go" tweets that we all make fun of whenever Auburn wins the iron bowl
there is a lot more to it than “rivals message board” but whatever helps you cope with it the fact that he was 2nd in the heisman is a joke. bunch of writers just looking at the stats just like you and jax are and thinking he played well he fumbled multiple times a game, and often in terrible situations. he threw terrible interceptions at key times in games. he was a one read and go guy that couldn’t run the offense and couldn’t throw the ball downfield. as soon as teams realized that, his efficiency plummeted. 300 yards looks great on paper, even when 250 of those were screens or dump offs or shovel passes. and he averaged like 3.2 yards per carry down the stretch and was awful at running the rpo y’all can think he was good all you want, but he wasn’t. like at all.
This poster thought Brent Venables was a bad football coach, celebrated him leaving Oklahoma, and mocked Clemson fans for being excited about hiring him as DC Not exactly a football guy
I watched OU play football this year plenty abysmal defense mediocre offensive line 2 players on that team period that could challenge for PT on the elite teams legitimately one player in CFB this season that was never taken out of the equation and he won the Heisman. Teams figures out how to take Jalen out of the equation from time to time yet he still managed to claw back to lead that raggedy ass football team to the playoffs and superior football mind dallasdawg can’t shut up about how bad he sucks.
He fumbled multiple times a game to the tune of 8 total and 6 lost fumbles on the season (and 8 INTs) to average exactly 1 turnover per game
i do not care about jalen hurts at all but i appreciate the level of hostility in this thread, ty all
will come in and try to calmly add my two cents to this topic as well, since y'all aren't taking dallasdawg seriously. Jalen was not very good in Norman this year. He was a stat padder who had a team with vastly more offensive talent and playcalling compared to a very mediocre league this year. I've seen every OU game for decades now, so I know the highs and lows, but when you base what he did versus the opponents he did it against, as well as the timeliness of the turnovers and critical moments of the game, you cannot legitimately say he "carried this team to the playoffs". the OU Rivals mods have a very good OU podcast, one thing I appreciate is the 4 guys who are on it are more journalists than homers. They keep it pretty unbiased, especially our co-founder who lives in Houston. They did a recent 'season wrap up' podcast where they got to finally lay it all out, since they wouldn't have to cover Jalen in press conferences or anything, and basically discussed how awful he was to work with in media sessions, his 'OU is lucky I'm here' attitude, and frankly his lackluster play. We have 4 years of Lincoln offenses pre-Jalen, and this year with Jalen. we hvae a pretty good sample of what the offense entails, how it stresses defenses etc. Jalen severely handcuffed Riley this year, as he could not: a) throw a receiver open, he literally needed to see the WR open with his eyes before he would pull the trigger; b) could not use the middle of the field, defenses started scheming around this and we couldn't use our slots/TE's which are a staple in our offense c) would often make the wrong zone-read read, and would keep it when the easy read was a give to the RB who is a better runner, and d) most importantly, was habitually too quick to pull the ball down and run on a passing play. Many games we would have WRs wide open (mainly CD) waving their arms in frustration and Jalen would take off. The play woudl grade out positively as a 10-20 yard scamper, but in person you would see the 50 yard TD that was left on the table. As the competition increased, these inabilities became evident. Our defense greatly improved over the previous regime (yes I know still not great, but compared to Mike Stoops? No contest). If Jalen had any of those defenses this team would have legit lost 3-5 games during the season. As it was mentioned, his turnovers became a very big problem. In conference play he had 12 turnovers in 10 games. They were backbreakers too. The lack of talent on our schedule created a scenario that exposed us for what we were in the playoffs. Our defense was good enough in a league with no legit QB opponents, and our offensive skill talent vastly overmatched the mediocre defenses in the league. Jalen didn't carry OU to the playoffs. The 2nd half of the season, he was actually carried there by the defense.
I feel like you guys are just spoiled at the QB position and are gonna have a bad time for the rest of your lives
