Not a bad class Lovie put together, hope it translates to the field. Need something with the debacle that is Illinois basketball.
That'd be big. Hopefully January stays committed. I guess Kaden Archie might transfer? Khalil Whitney still hasn't signed with Kentucky. I wonder if Kofi committed might change his mind.
Ayo and Giorgi are the best freshmen we've had since the 02 class. It sucks we gave away half of the season. If this team can get to 9 or 10 wins in conference that'd be pretty impressive. Think we might only get one more year out of Ayo though.
Also Tevian Jones seems like the kind of player that can have a pretty meh year this year and then bust out huge next year.
Sounds like Christian Brown is going to be on campus soon. Maybe as early as the PSU game. Would be a great late game pick up.
Amazing how much things have changed since Kofi committed. Now we will lay an egg against Rutgers haha
For the first time since Groce's first year I'm starting to get invested in games. Obviously this season is shot but there's a lot of value if they can win a bunch of games down the stretch, maybe win a couple in the Big 10 tourney. That run in the BTT in 98-99 set the stage for what happened the next several years.
I really want to see what Trent can do in a tournament. I think he's got a lot of Kemba in him. If Ayo stays one more year and Feliz stays this good or improves, I think we'll be very good next year. Our fans have been waiting for this for a long time. Our home court advantage can be ridiculous when they have something to cheer for and I think they will.
It would be amazing to go from "who the fuck are we going to land" to landing Kofi and Christian Brown... Antwan January might not ever make it, but who cares if those two do.
Been a long time since something good has happened and I know it won't matter after we fuck up against Purdue this weekend but that Wisconsin win was fucking fun.
Also lots of people picking Illinois to get Curbelo after this weekends visit including Jerry Meyer who just flipped his pick this afternoon
Hope he commits before visiting Oregon. Feels like they steal our recruits as often as anyone. Crazy how many pundits are picking us to be a top 35-40 team after such a bad season. I believe in our core, but I figured it'd take wins before others would buy in.
I love Dre Brown. Was gonna hurt so bad if we didn't score after he broke that tackle and got us to 1st and goal. That 4th quarter was nuts. I would've never guessed I'd end up feeling fortunate that McCourt missed the XP
https://www.news-gazette.com/sports...cle_8c79ab1b-e407-5a75-8a1a-09e27f033577.html All signs point to Morgan Park’s 6-3 Adam Miller not only announcing for Illinois Thursday, but actually making it official before the signing period ends Wednesday. A high-production scorer, Miller is a perfect fit alongside incoming playmaker Andre Curbelo.
Game was frustrating last night. We have so much talent at guard and yet we kept feeding the ball down low for some reason
Feliz can only score around the basket. Griffin and Trent are our best jump shooters, but don't get as many opportunities as you'd hope. Ayo is great in transition, but he's not giving us anything else on offense thus far. Really frustrating so far
I really hope we can hold onto him, because I think we'll be a lot better next year with Curbelo running the point. As talented as Ayo is, I don't think you can make much of a case that he makes others better. I think Curbelo's passing is going to make Frazier, Griffin, and Miller look really good.
