9-0 run to end the game, lose by 3. Includes a banked in FT, then that GW three off a terrible brick at the end.
I haven’t watched a Nebrasketball game in a month. This team is too frustrating to watch. still believe in Fred though. This roster has like 4 real basketball players on it
Posted it in the other thread, but I don’t think he’ll be a terrible DC as long as they keep compiling NFLers for him. As much as I hate to say that and hope he sucks. Definitely a shitty HC though.
Didn’t remember if we were still paying him. Looks like his last check from NU was last February. Hard to keep track of all the coaches we’ve paid off to not coach anymore.
I think he’ll be a really good DC @ LSU. His system requires great athletes. Bo was always a really good coordinator.
We gave Riley a $6 million lump sum around the same time and finished paying Eichorst last summer. Miles also getting $105,000 a month until March 2021. Fun times
It's expensive to suck ass at sports. That's where that Osborne penny pinching thing was short sighted and dumb. It's a lot more expensive paying several shitty coaches to not coach than 1 great coach to continue coaching.
Bo Pelini also got one of those 8 months before he was fired (4 months after daring the school to fire him on national television).
I don’t understand why anyone cares about the buyouts. Our AD turns a profit year after year despite paying those out and it even contributes scholarship money on the academic side. And I can’t really think of a coach we missed out on because we couldn’t offer them enough money.
The last couple years were bad but he did get YSU to the national championship game using all those Nebraska players he poached and this is a program that hadn't even made the playoffs since 2006 (pre-Pelini) so you have to keep in mind the expectations are pretty low
I’m not one to white knight for NU athletics but I thought he only got one extra year and it was never confirmed what the salary/buyout was with the extra year. I think they had to do something in case he made the tournament last year (like many thought we could). IIRC, Andersen and Sadler contracts were handled even worse.
Not really. LSU has had way better defenses than his. He needs really good athletes and no opponents that run anything besides a pro-style offense. Arkansas put up 2012 B1G championship rushing #s on his defense because they weren't prepared to handle all that ZR action. Now everyone does it, and Bo hasn't exactly evolved. LSU defense will more than get by in '20, but it'll start to decay after that.
Srs guys what's all this bizarre new deference to Bo Pelini? It's been a decade since he had any sort of even ok defense. It's been over half a decade since he coached FBS. Think he's been just workshopping all kinds of genius new concepts vs. Illinois St. that didn't work but are somehow going to be wildly successful against Alabama? He's past his prime. He's tired. He's burnt the fuck out. He's an asshole without rival. People think they're just getting 2006 Bo Pelini and it's the same guy and the same recipe that'll work in the 2020 SEC? GMAFB. This used to be a community of Husks unified around our shared knowledge that Bo Pelini is like having dementia and ball cancer and ass AIDS all at the same time
For me personally, the things I have strong feelings about today make the things I used to have strong feelings about seem absurdly insignificant and unimportant now. I have too much rage about more important things to have any left for the likes of Bo Pelini
Ok but how does that factor into Bo's chances of success at LSU? Yes it turns out there are even more humungous asshats to worry about in the world in 2020. And Bo Pelini still sucks every bit as much as we knew he did in 2014 and actually probably a whole lot more
And I'm so glad to be able to watch it. Can't imagine he's graduated from a dialectical behavioral therapy program out in the ulcer of America either. The spotlight of the Nation's defending champ is on you, Bo. Good luck remaining calm. Or even continent.
Does Carl get to join him? Still not convinced Carl isn't the secret to whatever moderate success Bo has had.
It does seem like a really odd hire. LSU could seemingly have their pick of the best DCs in the country right now, but they go with a known raging lunatic thats been coaching in the FCS for 5 years?
My favorite Bo story is when he kept Hunter Teafatiller on the team after 3 DUIs in just over a year and then made him a team captain and part of the unity council. You just don’t see that kind of loyalty anymore
