I consider myself about as attentive and devoted as they come when viewing TV and I have absolutely no idea what’s going on until I read a synopsis after each episode
just need to pay close attention to characters and dialogue when they mention other characters names and events Check out the official timeline I posted
I think this is kind of the heart of the critique—if anyone at the production or Netflix feels the need to make something like that, it probably wasn’t done well or the entire timeline thing was a mistake
Wtf was this 3rd girl thinking after 2 of her friends were just turned into eels right in front of her? After the first girl turned into a slimy eel, you think the other 2 would at least look scared, but nah.
Theres a lot of extra detail and lore on there, so its not really just for simpletons like you that can't use logic to parse what is happening.
i think the show would have been improved by adding a location and year intertitle at the start of the various stories they were weaving. that would've only been in the first two episodes, i think, and not taken anything away from the show. i hadn't/haven't read the stories or played the games so following the plot was somewhat of a challenge and i even knew of the timeline shifts going in.
The explain where and when would ruin the tie ins at the end. I dont get why people cant watch a show and say “this doesnt add up right now, but lets see if it wont later on” why does the show need to hold your hand?
I know what you are saying, but I also don't necessarily agree that the suggestion above would negatively impact the show. It is not a bad suggestion. I don't think it would detract from the story. I agree that the show wasn't hard to figure out, but at the same time I had the benefit of hearing some of you guys mention timeline changes, so I looked for it. Some of the actors/actresses did not appear to age much one way or the other in some timelines and by the time you realize that it is a different timeline some of the details of the context may be lost on people. I don't think timeline changes should be used as a trick. I think that if they are using that as a device it should be clear. I think they could have done a better job, but I still enjoyed putting it all together. I did go back and watch each episode twice which also helped.
This is how I processed it. I’m generally happy for something that’s “different” so I was happy to just go along for the ride and again I’m not sure it was a bad decision. But it often did take me out of the moment as I caught myself trying to piece it all together.
Is the musical score in the show done by the same person who did Black Sails? Really reminds me of that shows music
If nothing was tied together as the show went on it would have sucked, but i just dont get the need to know exactly whats going on in ep 1 2 or 3 when it makes sense when the season is over.
The first time it jumped around, I grabbed my remote and made sure I was watching the correct episode. Once I knew that I was I quickly put two and two together that it was a different timeline and went on enjoying the show. It wasn't that hard.
They announced they’re making a Witcher anime movie that’s probably gonna come out before S02 I assume it’s a prequel story

I need to do the same. Hell, I really just need to finish it. W3 was the first game I played in 10 years when I downloaded it this fall.
Im working my way through the books. Have 2 more left. Im not a big fantasy guy, so while I like it, it's also been a struggle. I can see how it makes for a good video game. There's a million little side stories that are fun to read , but also annoying because I just want to advance the plot.
Just started this last night, 2 episodes in. Might need to rewatch them because I havent picked up shit with the dialog, sounds like they are speaking Welsh.
true, but they also don’t say a lot during the few first episodes. Nothing important really happens aside from the massacre and yasmin changing
I thought it was important to know both names and places early on. It helped bridge the middle episodes.
I hadn't read the books or played any of the games. Just finished the last episode tonight. Don't like that I have to wait till next fall or whatever for more. Really enjoyed it. My local Walmart had These Witcher 3 for $16.84. Pounced on that shit. Will play when I finish Jedi: Fallen Order
Would you have sex with the initial cira? we are all weak men so probably yeah, but I love how It shifts. Very good show
Overall liked the show but the early reviews that the battle scenes shit on GoT were trash. First battle scene was okay and the last one really seemed like it was a half dozen witches casting spells on 200 soldiers.
I really liked the Witcher but comparing anything about it to game of thrones would never even cross my mind.
I found the close quarters fighting of the blaviken fight to be way cooler than any similar fight in GoT. The large scale stuff GoT does is much better.
