Primary deadlift day: 545x1 @8 500 2x3 @7 Bench: 325x1 @8 265 3x5 @may take a nap they’re too easy Jan 20, 2017 I pulled 500 in my first meet. Almost exactly 3 years later I’m pulling it for easy reps. Pretty dope.
I turned on a stream for Arnold's Santa Monica and all they're talking about is CrossFit , pretty fucked up by Rogue
Damn here I am still trying to hit 315. Any of you guys have longer arms? Are we just cursed to have mediocre bench #s?
I can dumbbell press 100’s in each hand but I’m not sure I could put up 225 on the bench no matter how good I felt. I think I’m just allergic to the movement or something.
Nah. Try out some wider grips and see how your shoulders tolerate it. Then just pound the shit out of your triceps, pecs, and front delts
1 event left but this guy is in 1st place over Shaw and Licis who need to win to make Arnolds. Won the first 3 events looking incredible but has a shitty deadlift that set him back. What a Saturday night for me, watching a strongman stream https://www.instagram.com/max.boudreault23/
I'm against the whole concept of training arms but pressing has been so much better recently and can do pullups again. Lower part of my bicep was just really weak and I couldn't do the start of a pullup without a lot of pain.
Quad seems to be back at full strength, ate well, slept well, was in a good mindset for the first time in a while deadlifting, and last warmup flew. Got a PR on the bar that I'm extremely confident about and boom, crazy stomach rumble and don't feel the need to go further into detail. Had enough energy for a nice workout but disappointing, felt like it was one of those days. At least I'm stronger, bit fatter but stronger.
575 for a block pull single @8. Coach is tempting me to go off program “you could pull 600 right now”. Trying to stay on track and let it out on the platform
Saw a guy using a gallon of Milo’s sweet tea as his workout fluid today. I was in the presence of a god.
I don’t think he was actively pushing it more just backing me up and thinking my goal is within reach
Man I keep overthinking my pull workouts I either get super focused on progressive overload and start to neglect form, or too focused on the stretch/squeeze and not progressing on my numbers or being consistent with exercises I should probably just do both.. have a few pull exercises where I do program them strictly and a few others that are more focused on exhausting the muscles and gettin that pump
I purchased a Concept 2 rower today for home. Anyone have experience with them? Mostly looking for any workout plans one might recommend. Thanks. gbr
-Set a distance then try to beat it next week -HIIT for 10-20 minutes then measure it by distance and try to beat that
I have 1, there's so much you can do with it. You wanna lose weight/condition, then do distance. Work on explosion then do shorter intervals. Can always do crazy CrossFit workouts if that's your thing. Believe the website has daily workouts and you can program workouts into the rower though I screw that up more times than not. It's an amazing machine to get a great workout in, just wish my glutes weren't hating me so often that I could use it more. Sometimes use it on deadlift day since I'm gonna be sore anyway and just say fuck it.
been rowing 3 times a week for the last month. back is feeling cool right now. most lifting is fine, but only heavy-ish squats are on belt squat.
Volume szn. Going to cut down my fatass for Mexico in March. I want to dabble with carnivore for shits and giggles. Sucks because I have to give up going for 6 plates. But whatever. I might try going for it this weekend. Eventually I'll tackle RP diet again I just can't find time to meal prep the right way. May even try one of those packaged food delivery sites. Hopefully dont lose my arm development. Feels sweet squeezing into my tee shirt sleeves again.
Hi old friends. I just wanted to check in and say “hello” and that I still love you. I’ve just been Olympic lifting for the past eighteen months, and I’m kind of embarrassed to show my face around these parts. I miss the simplicity and weight of power lifting and find myself questioning choices on a daily basis. Like, what the fuck is the point of this snatch bullshit?
5x5 and 3x3 Clean and jerk up to 180lbs yesterday, then clean pulls 5x5 at 275lbs. I think I tweaked something in my left hip/lower back/QL on the last set of pulls. God damnit
Weightlifting is cool, wish I had any sort of training. Do clean/snatch pulls and pretty good at them but no clue how to perform the whole movement.
My bench has sucked this block. I’ve been super frustrated with it. Went to a big gym out in the burbs this morning where a few world level people train and got some eyes on it and things flew. I think I’m back on track. Deadlifts moved well, though. 252.5/556 for 1 @8. Should be my opener. 230/507 for easy backoff triples
I was touching too high and not driving back off my chest. Which would be fine if I had a bigger arch and a wider grip. Touched a bit lower and made it more dynamic off my chest with leg drive and it flew
I'm active and healthy but hadnt lifted in quite a while. Finished my first round of 5X5 How I feel How strong I actually am ...
A day was had, folks. 3 weeks out from my meet and these next 2 weeks are the last real push to the meet. Squat: 540x1 @8.5. Thats my meet PR for a sub 9 single 495x3 @8. My best triple is 475 Bench: 330x1 @8. Moved like a fucking opener 315 2x3 @7.5. I’ve never repped 315 and today I did it with ease. Ready to turn this bitch loose soon
there is a trainer at my gym that wears a letterman's jacket with "IFBB PRO" stitched on the back. i'd guess he's about 5'10- 190ish
