It opened years ago at 10.00 and so they are still doing great. It was way over priced at 100.00+ I think this is probably the fair value. None of that matters in the grand scheme.
Barrios and Wilson leaving immediately is a big fucking deal and can't be overstated. Vince is the number one person in WWE. The number two and three people just quit in the middle of the night with no exit strategy. It's not an on screen thing so it probably won't get the play it deserves but it's a big fucking deal. Vince is weeks away from taking a more hands off approach to work with XFL and now his top top two corporate people are gone, and not just gone in the traditional "I'm leaving but here's six months to have a nice transition for the new guy" way. This is either "I just got caught fucking a goat and I'm outta here" or "I just found out someone is fucking a goat and I'm outta here before the news leaks." You just don't up and leave a corporate spot for a billion dollar company "effective immediately." That's how you freak Wall Street out. Which apparently happened.
That's nuts and an unbelievable level of petty and insecurity if they did that for free just because of aew
Would explain why they are hemoraging money if they are signing people to deals to keep them away from AEW and not making anything from NXT, but it sounds unbelievable.
Dont believe they are getting nothing from usa, but I heard this morning that they losing money on house shows, uk tv contract is lower than old one and currently dont have a contract in India and raw is only on the network there Guess it's possible they got nothing for nxt since AEW originally got nothing too but I think overall the financials must be in rough shape Edit - by rough shape I mean not as good as expected. Im sure they are still fine
That Saudi Money was/is covering a lot of issues for WWE live events. It’s why quarter one and three are normally good and 2 and 4 normally look bad. As a whole the live events have struggled and a lot of that has to do with high ticket prices and not elite stars to draw you in. Also why go to an event to see Roman vs Corbin when you see it every week on Smackdown lol. They need to rethink the house show setup. I think a big issue is the international TV deals not being completed. Whatever the problem I am looking forward to hearing grumpy Vince on the call
As a publicly traded company - if the USA thing is true that would be so financially irresponsible that it would be worth considering a CEO getting ousted as it would not be in interest of shareholders unless you somehow convince them if it is in the interest of the long-term health of the company.
NXT not getting any money on TV of true is probably even worse then it sounds considering NXT was the flagship reason for people to subscribe to the network. Wonder how many people let their subscription go after they found out they could watch NXT on TV now
HHH was vocal about not wanting to leave the network. At least not at this point. I was going to the network every week to catch NXT now I only sign on for specials. I could see people saying fuck it I’ll just find a stream and not pay 12.00 dollars a month
I probably would as well but I still like a lot of the content they put out when it comes to 24, Chronicle and ride along. It’s a good source of background noise
I had been resubscribing every year for at least this period between the rumble and mania and would catch up on all of the other stuff the network offers; a big part of that being NXT. Didn’t do it this year because why? I can steal the PPVs and watch NXT on Wednesday nights after AEW. The rest of the stuff on the network is just not worth it in itself
NXT is consistently a better product and consistently they bring guys up and don't know what to do with them. Hopefully subscriptions tank and WWE stop signing every single hot indie or international performer only to keep them away from AEW.
NXT likely had a similar deal as AEW. The network paid for production and they split ad revenue. Considering the numbers NXT does, they can absolutely get a similar deal to what AEW got. It just depends on if it’s from USA or elsewhere.
AJ on his injury "Just so everything is clear: Edge did nothing, absolutely 100% nothing wrong. His move, his spear, everything was perfect the way he did it. If there is any blame put on anybody about what I'm dealing with my shoulder, it's me. 100% me. I was over-brothered as they say, I just went crazy with my bump there. The only problem with flipping the way I did, the first thing to hit was my left shoulder. I thought I dislocated my shoulder. They wanted to get me out of there right away but I told them we can't do that, I can't roll under the bottom rope, that's not how the Rumble works. I said I'm staying in, and somebody's going to have to throw me over. We made sure that happened." "It is a separated shoulder. If you are going to do some damage to your shoulder, that might be the best one to do because you can come back with therapy from this. I'm pretty sure that is all it is. I could tell you Monday morning it was very difficult to put on a shirt. To put on deodorant, I couldn't even reach across. It sucked. From Monday to Tuesday and therapy today, I'm feeling a lot better. I don't expect to be out very long. I'm betting on myself that I'll be back before they think that I'm ready. We'll see how that works out."
Lol didn’t he go flying over the top rope too? Sure seems like there might have been an easier way to do that
Read an interesting fan proposal for all 3 women’s titles at WM36. Its wishful thinking but I wouldn’t have a problem with it and I think it’s a win-win in the long run. - Rhea drops the title to Belair at Takeover: Portland - Move both Rhea and Baszler to the main roster - Have 1 of the 2 enter the elimination chamber and win (Now in this scenario, if Rhea wins, she challenges Bayley for the SD Women’s title. If Baszler wins, she challenges Becky for Raw women’s title) - Charlotte challenges Belair for the NXT tittle. You have 3 fresh matches among the top titles all on WM36 weekend. Rhea Ripley vs Bayley Becky Lynch vs Shayna Baszler Charlotte Flair vs Bianca Belair
Rumble had me excited to watch Smackdown this week. They let me down. Very ho hum episode. But we got a date for my man Ottis.
It seems just convoluted enough to satisfy Vince's age-addled brain. The easier play is for Charlotte to challenge the similarly sized Ripley, Baszler to challenge Becky, and for Naomi to wrestle Bayley.
I missed most of SD last night and forgot about Naomi. Catching up on it now. Also, I believe she’s from Orlando so it would be a nice win for her. my understanding of above scenario I listed was that you bring up your two biggest heel/face stars of the NXT women’s division to challenge the two biggest heel/face stars on the main roster. - I wish Io Shirai was champion at the moment. - Io Shirai vs Charlotte Flair? You can inject that match straight into my veins EDIT
so are they going to put 6+ matches or we going to be missing out on some top talent at this event. With that said this card is fucking loaded and it’s going to be amazing
Didn’t see it mentioned but NXT had a teaser video of a returning superstar next Wednesday. Can’t wait
I’d be willing to throw you a bone for doing this every year. Maybe charge an extra dollar for everyone and take out the wife to a nice dinner or something?
I don’t think it’s talked about enough how great their entrance themes are. Jericho, Allin, Hangman, Cody, Moxley, Best Friends, SCU, Dark Order, Jimmy Havok, I love all those themes and I immediately know who it is when their music hits. Especially Jericho and Allin. Those themes absolutely fuck.
pearl is to Bianca like I am to Kairi Only Kairi isn’t married to a ridiculously attractive, charismatic dude that makes good money
