So did Depp's team just leak some of these files today? I know he sued her a few weeks back and alluded to some of these matters, but I am confused as to what spurred the activity today.
Old story: Heard asserted her husband, Johnny Depp, routinely beat and abused her, going so far as to post video footage of it. She filed for divorce (married less than a year) and with mounting public pressure on Depp, he settled and gave her 7 million (which he donated to charity in her name). New story: Heard has seemingly lied about everything. The video was doctored, the photos of her bruises were just makeup, and she, in fact, physically and verbally abused Depp. Now Depp is coming for her with a $50 million lawsuit. This is what she did to him
The timeline of this is pretty confusing - what has his legal team been doing for the last two years?

i mean it seems that they were both abusive and in a hellaciously toxic relationship filled with substance abuse so the reee MeToo stuff or his career being ruined is really really dumb
they were submitted in Heards case which she testified under oath about, some photos got published of her roughed up, i mean in the settlement statement they released jointly it admits their relationship got physical setting aside his entire multi-decade struggles with drunken violence

Depp is a trainwreck obviously now, but it does suck that Heard played up the DV victim angle in a way that doesn't appear to be remotely correct. Other than doing generic rock star cliche shit like drunkenly smashing up a hotel room, I feel like Depp's persona has always been that of a fundamentally nice if offbeat guy. He clearly has a drinking problem and has indulged in other drugs, but he was never cast as any kind of womanbeater until Heard tried to smear him. That audio is pretty damning for anyone attempting to paint him in such a manner. The way in which his former girlfriends/wives unilaterally and definitively came to his defense was pretty striking given that it was an opportune time to pounce on him while he was/is down.
he beat up a crew member on set like a year ago, we don't need to pretend Depps a good guy to also admit Heard is responsible in part for their toxic relationship

Depp obviously has Nic Cage level issues with spending money on dumb shit but her using the DV/ #Metoo shit is the fucking worst. Hope she gets sued for defamation or slander. With that said I bet she is a demon in the bedroom.
