Not an expert on autos by any means but if you aren't 100% sure it is authentic then I would pass on it. From googling various signatures of his, there seems to be something off with this one. Now, you never know what year it was signed as sometimes peoples' signatures change over time, but I wouldn't buy anything that hasn't been verified by an authenticating service.
Ended up taking a chance on it. Will send it out to get it authenticated. Always a risk buying items without COA, but thought the potential risk might outweigh the reward.
Know not many on here are soccer fans, but I bought an autographed team signed jersey of Manchester city from last years squad on ebay. Got a pretty good deal on it and I know it's authentic because it is a team issued one and it still had the COA from the team and the box/package they send them in. Here is the photo from the ebay auction. Anyway, the wife decided for Christmas she was going to get a professional frame job for me for it. Took it in yesterday and think its going to look real nice. It was missing a couple players autographs, so I bought 4 4x6 autographs of the missing players and have the team photo centered under the jersey in the frame with 2 signed 4x6 on either side. I think it is going to look real nice. Ill post a picture once the framing is done which should be in early February.
Its funny how that works, best autograph I ever pulled out of a box was from a cheap box of minor league hockey cards I bought when I was in High School because I was trying to get some of the minor league players to sign them. I pulled this out of that cheap box
My Deebo helmet that I paid $145 for is looking like a solid investment this early into his NFL career. Wish I pulled the trigger on a Mahomes Texas Tech for $425 when I was presented the chance
I can't wait to move to a house with a proper area for a man cave. I have a lot of nice pieces now to display. Verlander signed Tigers Jersey, Hasek signed Wings jersey, Stafford signed Lions Jersey, Ernie Sims and Jameis signed FSU jerseys and a team signed game used FSU helmet. Also a crap ton of signed 8x10s. This man city Jersey is the only one I paid for, got everything else signed on person on jerseys I already owned. Also have a few other busts signed Jerseys not really worth displaying like Charles Rogers, a team signed Michigan hockey Jersey without any notable players, signed Al Thornton FSU basketball jersey and Daryl Bootland is easily my most random signed jersey
That's awesome. I bought a Messi signed jersey as well as a Suarez from Pristine Auction, and I'm going to get them custom framed together. If you don't mind me asking what did the framing run you?
We went to Michael's when they had a 75% of framing deal but their prices are crazy high without the discount. I think it was like $600 but my wife insisted on getting the glare resistance acrylic because she could notice the difference, I think that raised the price like 150/200 by itself. Also it's going to be double matted with 5 photo cut outs under the jersey. The team photo centered and 2 signed 4x6 on either side (Pep, De Bruyne, D Silva who all weren't on the the jersey and Raheem who is my favorite player). It's going to be a big piece, it would probably be a good amount cheaper to frame just a jersey, especially if you fold in the arms to make the frame size smaller. But definitely go when there is a sale. Michael's claims what I'm doing would have cost like $2400 to do what they are doing without the sale. Also if you are just framing a jersey and dont care about mating or anything else you can get a decent shadow box for jerseys at Michael's for like $100 or less and isnt hard to do by yourself. I've done that with my Hasek and Verlander jerseys.
Uncracked player bats are hard as fuck to get, my first one in the mail in about two weeks. Crappy player, as all #Texas Rangers are, but very cool bat.
I definitely would recommend checking out art2frames.com to see what their options are like for shadow box framing too.
Finally nailed down the 1999 SP Authentic Chirography baseball set, that took about a year to complete. Have had the 1998 SP Chiro set completed for months now. 4 cards away from completing the 2018 Flawless Signatures football set (/10). Once I finish a few more of these sets I'll get some scans and post them. Here's my practice scan of one of the Flawless autos, if you have any of these you need to hand them over immediately.
2020 Topps Baseball just dropped this week. I was looking through the SP and SSP Checklist and saw that this will be the Pete Alonso SSP
Griffey second year, Olerud rookie, Juan Gonzalez rookie (underrated) in the UD. Bonds, Canseco and Bo Jackson in the 1987 Topps. There's not much to even look for in 86 Topps, did get a Fielder rookie though!
Got a Todd Gurley auto jersey and Magic Johnson signed memorabilia this week at pristine auction. Great prices...looking forward to that mail day
Just know that Pristine doesn't sell officially licensed jerseys. Not even the knock off Chinese ones. It's just a cheap imitation that shares the same color pattern, with a players name and number.
I got a Magic ball autographed somewhere upstairs. Cornered his bitch ass at the Westin Hotel back in his playing days. Not many NBA players were able to elude me, just Michael.
My uncle hit me up the other day, he asked if I wanted to go through my cousin's who is maybe 43 (in law school) and lives across the country's cards and comics. They are moving out of state. I know absolutely nothing about comics and I know the mid 80s suck, I am trying to think of a way or place to donate the comics and cards so somebody can benefit.
Final product is pretty. How much was the signed jersey? I would entertain getting one of mine but I might go through a few boxes of snickers at this point.
325 pounds, which converted I think was like $400. There were some cheaper but didnt have near the COA or proof this one did with being issued by the team. Also included signatures of some of the bigger guys like Aguero, Sterling (I'm 95% sure it's his signature), Sane, Laporte, B. Silva Ederson, etc. Was only missing really KDB, Pep and David Silva which is why I added their photos under. Other reputable team signed jerseys are for sale at 500-600 pounds and most didnt have Aguero, KDB or Sterling. You could get some on Ebay as low as 200 pounds but it's a crapshoot because the coa (if it even included one) would usually be from the guy selling it which I don't trust
I'm not sure why they arent included. I think most the stuff for sale is people waiting outside practice to get them to sign stuff so they probably just stop the least. Not sure why they didnt sign the team issued stuff. I've seen on twitter man city offering KDB signed jersey as contest prizes and stuff so not sure. Raheem Sterling and Aguero were both tough to spot because they both have two different signatures. Took me a minute to realize Aguero was on that jersey because it's his less used signature and when I realized it was his that convinced me to jump on it. Just so you can see the variance in Sterling auto, the one on the photo is his and is his more normal signature and on the jersey, the signature directly under the R of airways is also his I'm 95% sure. Looks like his 2nd signature enough I think it's his and doesnt match anyone else on the teams signatures.
Thanks for the heads up. First time buying there. It does look like the gurley jersey is a knock off, but oh well. Not looking for anything museum worthy I guess. An auto authenticated by Beckett on a knock off jersey is worth the 50 bucks.
Anyone do hockey? I think I need to start a hockey auto set because I don't spend enough money as it is. I see Upper Deck appears to be the go to, which is cool because they are sorely missed in other sports. Would prefer a retro type set as I couldn't name more than 10 hockey players in the league today. No relic bullshit, just autographs from packs, on card only/no sticker sets. I'm on cardboard connections now looking at all the sets in each year, started with 2000 and working my way to 2020. Only 4 more years to go and haven't really found anything that looks intriguing. Should I be looking at other companies like Leaf?
Cancel that request, found the set of my dreams. Upper Decks long running 'Sign Of The Times' did a decades version in 2018-19, they have 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's players. Gretzky, Messier, Lemieux, Hull, Modano, Turgeon, Hasek, etc. I'll pick up the handful of 60's and 70's players to go with those awesome 80's and 90's players.
