I wish I understood options well enough to get in on this craziness. On the plus side, I’ve made $1k from a $640 investment, so that’s nice.

The current astronomical rise is from all the massive shorts closing their positions combined with a bunch of different analysts seemingly trying to one up each other with their target price.

but I would rather cash out up $45k now and be pissed about not waiting for another 10-15 than lose it all

 

I'm going to today as well I think. I bought in, mostly because Gallant Knight's smugness irritated me, when it was at 180 something. Gonna feel dumb when it gets to 2k by memorial day and splits.

Gallant Knight teach me some more shit today. If I wanted to wager Tesla will be under say $700 after q2 announcement, which was July 24th last year, what would those numbers look like?

 

You could buy a July 17th put with a strike price of $850 $156, so break even would be $744. Going to cost you $15k tho

 

I just put a stop limit sale order in. Figure I’ll get to keep most of what I’ve gained if it crashes, which I fully expect.

 

And even if it's at $500 that day, I can sell for $850, right?

I'm looking at the 8/21 options. The lowest strike available is $810 right? Just making sure I'm reading it right. If I did it, I'd want to be lower than that.

 

Why not a trailing stop limit then? Helps lock in future gains?
