Alternatively he could have thought it was worth more than he’s asking for or could have been worth more in 3 years but has decided to cut bait and take his money because he’s not interested in having his name and the value of his company dragged through the mud in a protracted “labor dispute” by people with nothing to lose.
Yes, labor unions historically are very interested in demolishing the image and value of their company
Well then this is a lesson in unintended consequences for the brothers and sisters of Ringer Union chapter 121. I’m not anti-Union categorically. Unions serve a very important purpose. They have won very important rights for workers in situations where labor was being oppressed. This is not one of those situations. A bunch of naive adults built a pillow fort and called it a castle, and the king decided he didn’t want to deal with them any more, so he’s selling.
Would love for the mics to immediately cut off as soon as Bill and Chris Ryan start doing their deep, raspy voice impressions. Shut the fuck up, you dweebs.
Russillo pod was awesome. Completely agree; woulda listened to him and Tirico for hours. Bill and Chris pod was fine, kinda rambling. Turned off Ringer NBA Show and deleted the episode when Verrier said that the only thing that compares to this is JFK’s assassination and closest event in his lifetime was 9/11.
Russillo pod was awesome. RRs intro was really well done and Tirico and Marks killed it. Edit: the Gordon Hayward tidbit was excellent immediately deleted Group Chat. Knew it’d be bad. Started Lowe post with Rachel and Ramona and it’s solid so far. I think Ramona has done every interview and pod for 30 straight hours
Do they pull it together on Lowe after the into? I started it but couldn’t get through the first 5 mins. Love Lowe and Ramona but not about to listen to an hour of 3 people almost-sobbing.
Not familiar with Verrier but it got me thinking... born in ‘74 Biggest moments I can think of go probably Miracle on Ice Detroit wins WS (sorry, not sorry) Challenger explodes Michigan b-ball wins a Natty Berlin Wall goes down Desert Storm/Gulf War Michigan Fb wins a Natty 9/11 And I guess the Kobe crash?
the pod with Verrier and Chris Ryan is pretty rough. Verrier's way of speaking in particular grates on me for some reason. with that said, I think this is more like the US version of Princess Diana's death. Both she and Kobe were established world figures at or close to the peak of their popularity and young enough for an accidental death to be even more tragic- this one even more so with his daughter and all the others on board.
Woj is such a bad podcast guest. So awkward to listen to while he's just rambling for 5 minutes about a topic.
there is a reason he has gone a whole career almost exclusively tweeting or writing. he will put you right to sleep.
Rusillo is terrified of framing things in a way that upset Woj too. Kind of funny to hear an “alpha” tip toe like that.
Who could’ve guessed Bill could’ve used the Super Bowl as another reason to bring up the Luka/Trae/Atlanta storyline all week.
I'm glad they are acquiring the whole company and I hope it stays running pretty much as it is. I expect the podcasts or at least some to be paid content. I'm willing to spend $5 a month for Rewatcheables, BS, Russilo and BoB but not more than that. The Rewatcheables is my favorite pod and I usually I listen to every 1 out of 3 BS/Russilo pods so 7-8 hours of content a month is worth $5 but I hope its not more than that.
read in one of the article about the purchase that Spotify's previous podcast company they bought did not do this so maybe not
I highly doubt this happens but would be nice if rewatchables 1999 came over from luminary as part of the deal
Listended to the first 20 minutes on my drive to work. Glad they are doing the movie as its my favorite since Django but I dont like the live audience rewatches. They try too hard to be funny and it doesnt have the same flow as the ones just done in the studio.
