Wish Bars would have got a start or 2 after playoff elimination. Be nice to have seen what we had with him going forward

That’s high praise, hopefully Castillo can get Bars at least to starter level.... the rest is gravy.

Looking at FA edges. Robert Quinn could be an option. 11.5 sacks last year. He’s 30 but should have plenty of opportunities opposite Mack.

Lots of really talented edge rushers available on the FA Market.

Don’t know why we’re worried. Kealia Ohai just got traded to the red stars. Have them trade for Julie Johnston next and then the Bears will be able to easily trade for JJ Watt and Zack Ertz for nothing cause they miss their baes.

A lot of Shurmer to Denver smoke now. I’m sure he’d rather be there and have 100% control.

He’s not coming here to watch Nagy calls plays, it’s either going to work or Nagy will be gone soon. Not going to be much middle ground if Nagy doesn’t get a sacrificial lamb

So did we hire a guy that got fired by Cincy last year? Doesn’t seem ideal.

What a fucking joke of a hire, I guess you can’t get anyone worth a fuck when they’re just there to hang out. Why the fuck have an OC and a QB coach if neither one does shit?Nagy better finish above .500 next year or he’s out...

Nobody was going to like this hire in the first place. Like I’ve said all along Nagy is going to live or die on his play sheet.

more concerned about who we add to the roster than I am about the coaching staff

    On a positive note.

Say Nagy does turn the ship around we are in the playoffs and anything can happen. Especially with our defense.

If Nagy can’t turn it around hello top pick in a draft class with elite QB prospects.

I think Defillipo is a pretty well regarded coach, we’ll see if it makes a difference.

Read an article that they think the Bears will bring Dalton in since he’s worked with Lazor....fuck that.

Seems like twitter thinks this was a great hire.

I’m still more interested in who we add.

doesn’t seem like QB will be a heavy investment given the hire. Unless we are drafting someone in the 2nd

I guess Dan Sileo (radio host) is floating rumors that the Bears are one of 5 teams contacting the Bengals about the #1 pick. He’s saying that Mack is on the table, I would also assume Trubisky and 2 or 3 #1’s would also be on the table. No way Cincy deals that pick with Burrows being an Ohio guy and it would cost us a Kings ransom.

Doesn’t Mack have like 50 mill in dead cap space if he’s traded or cut? Pace should be shot if that’s allowed to happen

This is absolutely bullshit on so many levels.

One Mitch contract and Mack’s contract makes this an impossibility.

Two we don’t have the draft capital to make this work. Our best pick is a 2.40 the amount of just picks to make this work would cripple this franchise and I doubt Cinncy would even entertain it.

    This is a garbage rumor

Pace has shown to be an aggressive GM so I agree I’m sure he will be all over any avenue to improve the team. That rumor is from an uneducated idiot looking for attention and not based on any knowledge of the cap.

I said this a few months back my only hope is Pace doesn’t set the franchise back by selling to many future picks and back loading to many deals.

I don’t believe the team is that far away. The defense floor is top ten. Need to focus on that OL, TE and WR this offense. You need three impact players at those spots. I think you do that you can win with Mitch. Look at San Fran made the SB with a average QB

I think comparing this team to SF is a stretch, we need at least 1 more very good pass rusher to pair with Mack and Nagy is never going to emphasize the run game like Shanahan to cover up the QB’s weaknesses. In a perfect world yes we could do what SF did but we don’t have the HC with the mindset to pull it off.

We are not San Fran, not even close. Their running game is one of the best in the NFL and they're doing it without some high paid top draft pick RB. Jimmy is also better than Mitch. Their OLine is better.

No matter how much we talk about it, we need a better QB. A better QB elevates the whole team. It will also allow our defense to not be on the field as much which was a major factor in why they dropped off (besides the lack of turnovers compared to last year). Nagy would either need to retool his offense around Mitch's strength, or bring in a QB better suited to run his system.

Seeing how we don't have draft capital, I doubt we can do much in the draft in terms of moving up. We have Mitch at a bargain for another year, and our draft should focus on line improvements, because even if Mitch isn't our QB going forward, the next one needs better line play. Look at the Colts. Their investment in their line allowed them to survive even with a mediocre Brisett at the helm.

It sucks. It sucks Mitch hasn't shown as much improvement for whatever reason it may be. He's shown flashes. But we don't need flashes. We need consistent play.

SF was a bottom 5 team going into the offseason last year. But yes we aren’t close to them lol.

Did you watch Kyle go pass happy to close out his lead in the super bowl?

I’m not a Nagy hater. I get why some don’t like him. Especially given the tradition of this franchise. And with how the offense looked this year. I’m not giving up on Nagy and I’m not ready to say he’s garbage as a play caller.

Keep in mind that the Burton injury really set this offense back so much. It’s why I think getting a TE from either the draft or FA should be the top need.

Mostly used as a blocker with the Chiefs and was pretty good. Still had more receiving yards than any of our TEs.
