Hard pass for me. I’ve been once, it was pretty fun, carts are fast as shit and my wrists were sore the next day from the tire grip and tight turns. They got some juice for sure. Downside was they were nazis about letting people pass and don’t really let you race other carts or ‘trade any paint’, they’ll kill your cart and stop tracking your lap times for the slightest infractions which pissed me off. I sure as shit wouldn’t go on a Saturday. Also the track is winding af so you never get up to top speed.
no problem...The real answer you’re looking for really all depends on your career ambition, and the pros and cons associated with your attendance or absence. Go karts be damned, how much professional capital do you stand to gain by sucking it up and going?
I get what you’re saying. I work for a beer distributor and it’s pretty much just a way for a supplier to say thanks for a good 2019. These things happen all the time in this business but usually happens during the work week. It was kind of presented by the supplier as “hey, if any of y’all want to, come to Autobahn Saturday and have some fun on me!” I don’t hate my job, but, I also value my time away from it. I’m assuming you can’t drink and race since the karts haul ass?
Autobahn is fun. Went with a bunch of buddies a few years ago and had a really good time. Definitely don’t remember them being Nazis and we were passing and bumping. No alcohol being served. As DBBBQ said, the karts are fast as fuck.
Yeah I went a few years ago for a work thing. It was alright and as far as work things go a lot better than other options. Also didn’t take a lot of time (just did two races).
holy shit dude. we are on redwood and had nothing like that. thankfully i'm at the top of a little hill.
I work in Vestavia near the bowling alley and 31 was flooded over early this morning. When that storm drain by the Milos gets clogged, it doesn't take long for the bowling alley parking lot to fill up like a bathtub and spill onto 31.
Yeah my backyard backs up to the creek so it’s the lowest house in the neighborhood. We’ve had it overflow into our backyard, but last night was truly terrifying. It was about 6 inches from my door before it started to recede.
Legion FC match is sold out. That sucks. Was planning on taking my kids. Cheapest GA ticket on Stubhub is $48...I don't think so. Is it streamed?
Driving over from ATL to go with my sister tomorrow. It sold out pretty quick I think, probably will be more than a few people driving from Atlanta.
Think GA had been sold out for awhile but everything else just sold out today based off their social media.
Wow, just put out the word on Nextdoor, and a neighbor's willing to give me his club-level ones gratis since he can't go. Crestwood North!
Drove over from ATL last night, sister-in-law works for Legion...apparently 400 of the supporter groups are coming over. Should be a fun atmosphere
You really hate to see how dangerous living outside of Birmingham can be https://www.al.com/news/birmingham/...-vestavia-hills-police-near-liberty-park.html
No lie, my backyard looks a lot worse than it ever has, and I'm on a hill. Hang in there Stone Cold Steve Austin
Don't be stupid out there. I know a lady in Tennessee who died last year when a flash flood hit her neighborhood and she got swept up after getting out of her car
Birmingham City England brummies going after Memphis football club on behalf of BHM Legion on Twitter...fairly entertaining for a Monday afternoon... “Memphis is shit.” “Elvis was overrated.”
I’ve put everything up and will stay at my parents for at least tonight. The stress of watching the water rise and fall was awful.
Man, if you seriously need some help laying some sand bags... I will definitely come help you out, I have a truck and tools to volunteer as well... Whole ordeal sounds terrible...TMB work party this bitch
Thank you. I’m going to buy some dam bags to cover the doors. Don’t think there’s enough sand or time to stop it from getting in the crawl space if it wants to.
Looking good this morning. Really fortunate that there were enough breaks yesterday to keep everything at bay. I appreciate all of the well wishes in here.
Never heard of it. https://www.msn.com/en-us/foodanddr...oss-the-country/ss-BBZoQ2R?li=BBnb7Kz#image=2 30 Historic Dive Bars Across the Country Douglas Backstrom 1/28/2020 2/31 SLIDES © theupsidedownplaza/facebook Upsidedown Plaza | Birmingham, Alabama Walk into the Plaza, and you could hear country, rock, or rap blaring from the jukebox. You'll also commingle with a diverse clientele — from doctors to plumbers. But the real interesting draw is how this place got its name: Owners hung the neon sign upside down, and decided to keep it. Thus, Upsidedown Plaza was born.
Me neither, but they have 6 pool tables. Gotta remember this place next time my friends want to go out. Spoiler I don’t have friends
