Clinching goal: Mane I really feel his signing was the true turning point. He carried the team into CL his first year and has gotten better each year. To me he’s the catalyst for the turnaround and has been pretty humble about all of it.
We HAVE to buy a big name to cover for AFCON. But I’ll worry about that later. Just wanna enjoy this run and the season we are having.
I do love James. I have a huge man crush on Virg though so he would be a fine 2nd. My love of the Dutch and playing FUT made me a huge fan back when he was at Celtic
Thrilled to see Keita starting. We will need him on Tuesday. Also want Mane to get some minutes today to knock some of the rust off.
Every time we go in for a 50/50 we’re getting called for the foul. Seems like they’re winning a lot of the 2nd balls also. sloppy game all around
That Allison save was alien stuff. The square ball wasn’t perfect but the reflexes to stay up and then get down at full extension at the last split second and get a strong hand to it was extraordinary.
That’s obvious, but it’s going to have to be one who understands the role he’ll be needed to play. There aren’t any guaranteed spots. A lot of big time players may not be suited for that.
It’s getting to the point where our front 3 have played so many games that last 3 or so years. I think we need to start planning to rotate them a good bit.
Absolutely. Still it’s going to be tough to convince an elite player to come in and not be an immediate key player.
Crazy how we didn’t even have room for minimano in the bench vs Norwich. Nervous about the Atletico game in warmer weather, with a days less rest, and against a rough, defensive minded squad.
there is a good article on the Athletic about Atleti matchup this morning. Bottom line, they have a bunch of key injuries, are run ragged, and do not score goals. This is not 2013-2015 Atleti. They will bunker like crazy tomorrow, my guess is it will be a very ugly game and we will play a ton of long balls to Sadio and Mo to try and beat the back line.
he has more game deciding goals than anyone this year. He has the more goals and assists than any player over the last 3 years. He scored the game winning goal in the champions league final
Do you disagree that he misses a lot of chances and struggles in games against bunkered teams? While most struggle against bunkered teams, he seems to turn the ball over more than the others. I havent seen data and I'm sure I'm wrong and you will point it out. Just didn't seem that far-fetched a take to me.
Salah is our main attacking threat and teams haven’t been able to set up in a low block against us for two years. It doesn’t even make sense.
