I was hoping for better, but expecting something like this. Patricia apparently still going to call plays, so this is just window dressing and ultimately comes down to whether Patricia is willing to change his scheme. It's disappointing that Patricia's coaching hires are essentially his friends and family plan. Doesn't mean this hire won't work, but it doesn't inspire a ton of confidence that he searched very hard for the best candidate.
Yep. This is just passing the buck for another season. And it shows a guy who is so stubborn about doing it his way that he can’t see the forest through the trees.
So Senior Bowl practices begin today but we still seemingly have a ton of available coaching positions. Sounds about right.
We supposedly told the Senior Bowl we'd have a full staff, which I'm sure they're thrilled about if we show up with no LB or DB coach.
From looking at the Lions' website, we're probably missing a TE and LB coach, and then a support staffer or two on defense. Randy Gregory is the presumed DB coach moving forward by a bunch of media people. Patricia's probably going to need to do a lot of position work with the LBs this week, though. They've got one other guy with LB coaching experience, but he's a low level staffer.
I was assuming London at first, but aren’t they talking about playing some international NFL games in Germany this year?
Regardless of whether we can trade back or not, what are people thinking in terms of Derrick Brown v. Jeffrey Okudah? Would anyone even consider anyone else in the top 5? Seems like we can't go wrong with either guy, except we're the Lions and so we know that's not true.
Because you don't want either player? Or because you won't accept any pick because it needs to be a trade down?
Wouldnt be shocked to see a bunch of these rumors and stories between now and the draft. Dont think there is any chance it happens but expect us to leak stuff like this to make teams think we may take a QB to get a better offer trading down
yeah it’s a smokescreen because these two idiots can’t afford to deal a good QB in a make or break season. Plus the dead money situation makes this unrealistic.
yes. Only way those two are acceptable picks is if we trade down. Tua is best available and would have been first pick had he not gotten hurt. You could argue Brown and that DB from osu have a better or equal chance at being a bust than Tua.
When is next time we will be picking in top 3? You gotta grab Tua if he’s available. Sit his ass for a year, and then let him take over like Mahomes did.
Yep but that won’t help win games this season and they need to win at least 9 or they hopefully will be fired
