Tre Burt's debut album, "Caught It From The Rye", is out today on John Prine's record label. It's not really country, more of a roots/folk album, but figured folks in here might like it. I really love it.
A buddy of mines album just got released today. Maybe I’m bias cause I know him but I think he’s got a great sound. He’s also a great guy so I hope he can get some traction with this album. You Apple Music guys give it a listen.... 30 Damn Years by Peter the 3rd https://music.apple.com/us/album/30-damn-years/1493214960
Childers was awesome last night. He’s improved his stage presence so much since the first time I saw him in 2017. Great show.

Did you get a poster, The glow in the dark one? I really wanted to hear Trudy again, but the dual Robert Earl Keen finale for The Road Goes on Forever was good. Like this: Spoiler All Hounds Go to Heaven on Thursday night
Hobby Lobby. $30 for 18x24. Exhibition black. That includes backing and wire hanger. Let them frame it. If you have your ticket, they can tape it on the back too. Ask if they have any in the back. The ones on the rack seem scratched as hell. https://www.hobbylobby.com/Home-Decor-Frames/Frames-Photo-Albums/Wall-Frames/Black-Matte-Smooth-Wood-Wall-Frame---18"-x-24"/p/98780
Any fans of Midlands’ song “Drinkin Problem”? There’s a cover by a group called Ekolu that’s been blowing up out here, can’t get it outta my head.
Was poking around eBay trying to see what this weekend's two posters looked like and saw where the ones we have sold for $150 and $200. I'm still skeptical, but part of me believes it because of the poster craze.
Damn. Apparently some big name comic book guy did one of ours. Can’t remember if it was yours or mine.
Corb Lund put out a new song, based on a hunting trip with Evan Felker. It’s good. Also I just miss Evan Felker.
I'm probably the only one out of the loop here but apparently Turnpikes initial record Bossier City, which I had always understood to be out of print, is available for mp3 download at Waterloo Records website. Contains the OG/better versions of Easton and Main and Bossier City.
I would assume, I dont use itunes but I was able to just upload it into google music after I saved the mp3 file onto my computer. Seems like the mp3 must be downloaded onto a computer rather than a phone in order for this to work.
Last year I started listening to as much off of Saving Country Music's most anticipated list as I could get through. I know SCM isn't the best and a lot of people don't like Trigger, but it's a good place to at least get an idea of what is coming out. Im thinking about posting what I'm listening to. Where else do you guys find out what's new or coming out soon? Catching up on my 2020 releases so far. Really like this song by James Steinle Probably my favorite song of the year so far, and really enjoyed Tre Burts whole album. I think SC posted a few of his songs earlier in the thread.
I read SCM a lot because where I live these artists dont get air time on the radio. I also learn about artists from this thread. I'm a very basic man. Never had a major problem with Trig, dont really understand his obsession with Mike and the Moonpies though.
My dad had Tom T Hall on the other day. Memories of weekends with that playing when I was a kid. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCI1Uw3YqoT6Riv-LRzjCLQQ
On the Trillbilly podcast Sturgill said something about the SCM guy like "man he was my biggest fan and I appreciated that but once I switched up my sound it's like you're not a journalist. You're just a butthurt fanboy." Like, damn Sturgill.
Man, Trigger REALLY got his feelings hurt. Big mad. https://www.savingcountrymusic.com/the-ethical-compromises-of-sturgill-simpsons-uproxx-interview/
Just shook my head when I read that. But not as much as when I see tyler > Sturgill posts here, especially live. Spoiler
Mixed views here. Sturgill seems to be in a constantly pissed off state at no one in particular and seems like kind of an asshole to deal with. I'm not sure why hes taking shots at Dave Cobb, who produced the 2 records that gave him notoriety. Those were 2 spectacular records, regardless if Sturgill doesnt like them anymore. His whole attitude seems to be that because hes not in the same headspace as he was when he made those albums, then fuck this guy, this guy, and this guy. No one put a gun to his head and forced him to sign with Atlantic Records either. Trig is I'm sure triggered for being called out by Sturgill when hes given him as much good press as anyone. And I'm sure he doesnt like how much press hes given Sturgill, only to have him start making techno rock albums. Anyways, no denying sturgill is a different dude but all that being said I would immediately read that book being referenced if he ever releases it.
Haven’t seen this album discussed yet, but Katie Pruitt’s album Expectations is . Very impressive singer/songwriter.
I'm hoping so. He's been playing this one live for a few months, so assuming he's got more in the can ready to go.
