I stopped at this place at Beverly Hills a couple weeks ago and everything was so overpriced I laughed. Then the guy tried to sell me some angels envy for $80 like it was some on sale deal.
sounds about like the place here that I laugh at - they have OWA for $190, Weller FP for $750, Hancock’s for $130 or $140, & Pappy 20 for $2100 they have a few other outrageously priced ones but I haven’t been in there in a while, so I can’t remember the rest of them
Really ended up enjoying last year’s store picks. Great bottle to drink down to the shoulder and let sit for a few weeks. I definitely added some water to the first few pours.
Also found it at Brass Mug Liquor, 19213 Newburgh Rd, Livonia, MI 48152, though it was a bit more expensive there. Really liked that store and he has a lot of solid options. Ended up grabbing another Caribou Crossing (Single barrel) store pick for theregionsitter, a 1792 BiB store pick, and a Foursquare rum (premise). Will definitely visit that store again next time I am back up here. Now just have to hope I wrapped everything up tight enough in my checked bag for my flights tonight...Also that it is still under the 50 lb limit.
Anybody seeing any rumors about new EH Taylor limited release? Say a pic where it’s called “18 year marriage” and this is about the time that would start to leak, but haven’t seen any official TTB labels or anything
Just got a Weller Antique and I have a Buffalo Trace Store Pick both were at MSRP DM if interested in making a trade/purchase for either
E.H. Taylor Unannounced Special Release has been on the breaking bourbon release calendar for April since the beginning of the year.
Negative. I’m playing a little game of “how many can I buy before Mrs. Tamland throws a fit?” Currently at two bottles.
I'm playing the game of how many bottles can I fit into my bar area without her noticing. I'm already out of room...
I was at dinner Saturday night and the restaurant had MWND on the menu, I ordered some and was the cunty asshole who asked them to check the bottle for the Act/Scene (7/4) info
Just saw it on the shelfs again in Oregonyesterday , but now at $38 as opposed to $30 last month. So it begins. Luckily Rare Breed was on sale for $40 so I grabbed another bottle of that instead.
Also what is the thread opinion on EHT BIB Rye? Saw it for $75ish I think and was going to buy it until I saw it was a Rye, which I typically like but didn't want to blindly purchase since he has a few.
Plenty of rye that I’ve been enjoying in the $30-50 range, so I’m too hesitant to drop the money in EHT rye (even at $75, lowest I’ve seen it is $89.) Also Duval offered this last week:
Haven’t tried it yet but I have a bottle. May crack it open sometime during the next week when I’m back in town.
It’s almost always on the shelf at that price too - pretty much anytime I go into Spec’s or Total Wine, there’s multiple bottles on the shelf
My only bottle lives at my girlfriend’s apartment for when I’m over there, I need to get another to keep at the house
Found Little Book Chapter 3 tonight in a college town for $115. Picked it up and they said “wow finally someone is buying that!” Also found a 375 of Eagle Rare behind a counter to enjoy in the hotel
nice, I paid right around that when I found it at Total Wine randomly a few months ago...when I see it, it’s usually $150ish
Bourbon thread picks my next bottle: OGD114 Old Forester Rye Old Forester 1897 Old Scout Noah’s Mill 4R Small Batch Select Makers RC6
