it really is like clockwork that something comes along as soon as I make a post like this, it's a power I don't take lightly my youtube go to strikes again
I listened to a lot of new music in 2019. So far I am not taking the same approach to 2020. But at some point I'll check out the following recent releases: Squirrel Flower Torres Andy Shauf Wolf Parade Frances Quinlan Shopping I am really looking forward to checking out the following Tame Impala Real Estate () Kevin Krauter I'm sure Caribou will be good too. And I'll want to check out that Disq album
Nah keep em coming. Lots of times I preview to not listen to something. I don’t mean that in a bad way at all.
No way man, my bad. Was just speaking for myself; pretty sure I’m in the minority. It’s 2020 and I’m being antiquated
Checked in on his twitter link to see if a new album was on the way and see that a version of this song was on Ty Segall's Freedom's Goblin, knew it sounded familiar Anyway new Tuff album please
I’ll say it, chronologically for me. I did not like Currents or the current album, they devolved away from what I appreciated in what they did. That said I get it if you enjoy them, just went away from what I loved about them.
I wanted to find out where people placed the new one in their pantheon, but I see many hopped off when they went to the "dancier" sound on the last album
Also I'd imagine they picked up more fans than they lost with the new stuff, think Currents is probably their most popular by a good margin even though it's not my thing
That was my defense of what I find likable about it when they seem to have become unpopular with the indie thread crowd. It was a combination of trying to figure out what I'm missing, and seeking to retain my status with the herd
Meh you like what you like. I hate like 90% of the thread but I’ll never stop looking or listening to random things because sooner than later something falls through. Pretty sure I posted I didn’t enjoy Idles the listen I gave their last album and now I love them in entirety. In terms of Tame, for me it’s all about the drums. Went from really enjoyable to a beat machine. Not sure if they lost their drummer or what.
It's all just one guy, and drums were his original instrument. I agree the rhythm grooves are a big part of a song like "Gotta Be Above It." I thought there was some interesting stuff happening beat wise on the new one.
He had a musician dad, learned a lot from him originally. First got into recording with actual cassette tapes. Mid 30s. Australian. (I read his Wiki page last night)
looks like red may be back up, just noticed a bunch of albums finally downloaded for me and mostly everything seems to be seeding again now
Nick Reinhart from Tera Melos has a new band called Disheveled Cuss. He's got an album coming out in early May find the song Nu Complication below Spoiler
was bummed this album was supposed to be released last week I think and it got bumped to april or may
omg omg omg new Car Seat Headrest album out May 1st. It'll be the first album consisting entirely of new songs since 2016's amazingly epic Teens of Denial here is Can't Cool Me Down Spoiler
after two listens, the new Real Estate album is just okay. Not near the level of Atlas, Days or self titled debut (these were elite albums). And I think In Mind is considerably better as well. Will be good background music for work or reading or yard work but not something I'm gonna be bopping along to on road trips or when listening to music for real enjoyment. I'll give it another few listens over the next few days to see if it starts to resonate with me a bit more
