Had my second on Sunday. 9/10. First one I had when they first came out was probably 8.25/10. Excited for the next one.
Finally had a Popeyes open up next to the softball field I play at. Grabbed one after the game and just ate it. Spicy. Delicious. Undoubtedly better than any other fast food chicken sandwich. The crunch was something I had never had before. Perfect pickle placement. Right amount of mayo. Surprised I enjoyed so much with the hype. Will go again.
Update: just googled the closest Popeyes to work. 17 minutes. It’s 10:30AM. I don’t wanna overdo it though.
I had one for lunch. Was crunchy despite them already having quite a few made. I've had 5 or 6 and only 1 bad one so far (and it was still okay)
Noticed they’ve been skimping on the spicy mayo my last few visits. Just gonna have to ask for extra from now on I guess.
I've had two bad ones and they were back to back so I went away from it for about a month. I had my first since then a couple weeks ago and it was good again.
had it for the first time in a while today. it was perfect. also got some chicken livers. they're ok, but there were way more of them than I anticipated. going to put them in some Korean-style lettuce wraps with gochujang and ssamjang. (forgot about the lettuce from my farm share this week, so I'm being inventive)
On par? On par? Iowa is as good at judging chicken sandwiches as they are at running a presidential caucus, apparently.
Results came in way later than they should have and were reported as “let’s just call it a tie.” Very underwhelming, Iowa.
ok this was really fucking good. as I mentioned, I used both gochujang and ssamjang on it, along with some homemade fermented hot sauce, cilantro, and hoisin. definitely potential there.
"We have inferior sandwiches and dislike the LGBTQ community but we'll say god bless and you'll ignore all of that."
That thread is weird. If your b-hole is wrecked by a tame ass CFA spicy sandwich, what kind of bland shit are you usually eating?
Finally tried it. First food I’ve eaten today so got the spicy and the regular for comparison’s sake. Regular was ok. Chicken was flavorful but the whole thing was kind of one note with the mayo, which there was too much of. Can see why everyone loves the spicy. Sauce was awesome and chicken was perfectly seasoned. Runs circles around the Wendy’s version I must admit. Think the only thing I’d change is the size of the pickles (too big IMO) but they really hit a home run with the spicy version.
I’m choosing to believe what I’ve been told a number of times - some people really do prefer a smaller pickle.
My wife generally despises pickles but eats them on the Popeye's chicken sandwich half the time because they're so perfect for the sandwich.
