NSIAP https://www.mlive.com/tigers/2012/02/detroit_tigers_miguel_cabrera_2.html Doing the math tells us Detroit Tigers' Miguel Cabrera weighed 285-290 pounds last year
So Miggy is 185 hits away from 3,000 in his career and 15 hits away from 2,000 as a Tiger. He is 23 home runs away from 500 career dingers. Of course, he's had 145+ hits or 20+ home runs once in the last 5 years, both back in 2016.
Would be a shock if he gets to either this year, but it seems he's more likely to get 185 hits than 23 HRs, which is depressing.
I didn't really realize his last 3 years have been as bad as they've been. Averaging 100 games, 10 home runs and a .749 OPS.
If Perez makes it out of Lakeland healthy, I'm guessing he'll still miss 2-3 months by getting suspended for the PEDs he took in order to get healthy.
Coming to Detroit next week for one overnight for work.. where should I eat? What titty club should I visit?
Detroit is cool but if you’re in Southfield and want somewhere cool to go that won’t be totally insane, check out Ferndale.
Corned beef egg rolls and Detroit pizza > Coney Bacco is the best restaurant in Southfield. There's a buddy's pizza on northwestern near the Farmington Hills/Southfield border if you want to try Detroit pizza. If you want to leave that area go downtown, midtown, or corktown. Grey Ghost, Shewolf, apparatus room are all solid options that are close to stuff. Don't want to overcomplicate this for you. Peeler wise go to the coliseum or flight club if you're looking for full service/anything goes. Otherwise bouzoukis or legends for a more bar type vibe.
Any good podcasts you all recommend? I'm doing my annual I'm going to pay more attention to the tigers this year before work and life causes it to fizzle by June..
It's more likely he starts opening day again than he gets DFAd for the the season. I'll go with August 1 for his DFA date, even if it should be tomorrow.
It’s his last year. They gotta pay him regardless. He’s definitly starting opening day as MG2 noted. I bet he’s gone by July 1st. Mize will take his place in rotation.
I think even they have to know that's not possible. In a dream scenario, he pitches well enough in the first four months that they can find a team to pay $1-2M of his salary in the final two months. They're going to throw him out there every 5th day as an excuse to not bring up a young guy, and because the owner won't want to pay him $25M to go away.
I'm here for the Casey Mize panic after people start tweeting about his first outing today against Pittsburgh. Has allowed two doubles and a walk so far to the first three hitters.
