I was just telling Andy Reocho that. Feels like a graphic novel adaptation but it’s a new story that’s loosely based on some real people/events
I didn’t notice Mosby the first time he showed up, then the second time I was so mind-f’Ed. Wait, had it been Mosby the whole time?
It’s decent so far but the graphic novel type approach is something that I may never get used to Edit: to piggy back off this https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/...icizes-new-amazon-prime-show-hunters-n1141396
Just finished episode 2 and my wife and I are talking about quitting this show due to this fucking pussy. I really hate terrible writing whether plotwise or dialogue, and the idea that this kid who has grown up a Jew with a grandmother who survived a concentration camp only to eventually be murdered by a Nazi in front of this dumb fucking kid would have a fucking dilemma about watching the greatest villains in history get what’s coming to them is so beyond the pale. So far this kid was too big of a pussy to do the following: A) fight the asshole kid in the alley B) come downstairs as someone has a gun on his grandma C) kill his grandma’s murderer who just happened to be a Nazi war criminal who made people play human chess and also happened to use this kid as his personal dartboard D) refrain from feeling pity towards the fucking piano guy who committed documented acts of sadism for sport and then fall victim to the guy’s bullshit which resulted in their investigation being compromised....the investigation designed to prevent a fourth fucking reich I mean GTFO with this shit. This motherfucker wants to say a fucking Yiddish prayer for the dead Nazi while he honors his grandmother? Just terrible fucking writing. Nobody would be that stupid and tone deaf. As for the rest of the series, I am enjoying it and like the Tarantino/grindhouse vibe, but if they waste another episode on this cocksucker’s conscience when it comes to killing Nazi war criminals then I think I’m out. It’s fucking insulting to the intelligence of your audience to construct such a stupid character let alone your main character.
Yeah I couldn't make it through episode 3. The whole fucking thing sucks now. I retract my part about the Tarantino vibe working. This was like watching extremely watered down Guy Ritchie type homages to Tarantino. And it doesn't fucking work when you're trying to bounce back and forth between bizarro land and then pathos related to the Holocaust. Tarantino pulled it off in his movie because he didn't go for any maudlin bullshit. He didn't linger on the atrocities. The Staying Alive clip into the grandma ghost scene was embarrassingly bad. The dialogue sucks. The acting apart from Pacino sucks. The plotline sucks. I pulled the plug when the Foxy Jones girl started talking about how her daughter wants to snuggle with her ever since Darnell left, but of course she doesn't know who needs the snuggling more, mother or daughter. The interaction between the two detectives at the toy shop was brutal "this is related to the other case you're working, isn't it", and the actor guy is fucking terrible every time he opens his mouth. In conclusion, fuck this show. The only interesting characters are the Nazi hitman and Pacino.
Show started out pretty good, but lost me along the way. I finished, but after episode 1 I thought we may have had something. By 3 or 4 I was just grinding the show out
Aside from the jackass main character, the idea the government would just release Nazis into America and not fucking watch them nonstop is ridiculous.
Im not arguing this show is historically accurate, but the US government did bring in over 1500 Nazis to develop the rocket program. Many of them to Huntsville AL. Many of them were party leaders too, not just german scientists that worked for the Nazis I doubt they were able to keep tabs on all of them.
That’s just what the deep state wants you to think... I don't think they watched them 24/7 but they weren't about to start a fourth Reich here.
Again, this show was never billed as a historical docuseries. If you cant get past some plot devices then this isnt for you.
I mean thats pretty much exactly what actually happened. I'm on ep5 and enjoying it. Ted Mosby the MVP.
Made it through Ep1. Turned it off halfway through Ep2. From the other posts here, I won't pick it back up Same thoughts as others on why it is awful
For real. I get if this isn’t your cup of tea, but the it’s like people are hating on this like it’s The Waking Dead tier shitty show
Not perfect by any stretch. I do have some issues with the dialogue and acting but it kept my attention for the series. It was a good premise, just not executed very well. I doubt I'd give a second season a chance absent some major changes.
Right now i am watching Curb, The Outsider, and Better Call Saul. The Outsider is by far the weakest of those three, but I’m rolling with it. Just started the Australian TV version of War of the Worlds with Gabriel Byrne on Epix. I really like it after two episodes. I don’t watch that much TV and really wanted to like Hunters, but it turned out to be cringeworthy on multiple levels.
There are more shitty shows than good ones The problems with this show have been posted here already. Multiple people agree with them. Enjoy the show if you like it, no one is telling you to stop. It's not for me (and going from reviews outside this site seems like more people dislike than like it)
I wasn’t trying to tell you or anyone anything. I just get the vibe that those of you who hugely hate it seem to hate it because it’s not 100% perfect. Just my
TWD and this show are in no way comparable. TWD was very good in the beginning, people got attached to it and then they mailed it in. Not to mention the fans of the comics that felt betrayed (probably not the best word) similar to GoT last few seasons. This show is bad from S1E1
The problem with this show is it has too many tonal shifts. It’s hard for me to get emotionally attached to the concentration camp flashbacks because of how dumb some of the other stuff is (like the fake commercials of the characters). It’s trying to be so many different things that it never figures out what it is.
Im through 8 eps and can agree w this. Eps 7 and 8 were really good. Will finish tomorrow when I get back in town
Finished it. Really enjoyed early on, lost me some in the middle, brought me back in the end. So is the nun some sort of double agent?
I stuck with this to the end even though I was regularly groaning and reaching for the ffwd function on the remote. The Jonah character was totally insufferable as many others have already stated. That aside, for me it was this: A thousand times yes. Similarly the cartoonish nature of all of the "present day" Nazis was really bizarre and distracting.
