While CU hiring someone like Dorrell technically makes life easier for us, it’s hard not to feel like the PAC-12 as a whole isn’t permanently slipping away from relevancy in cfb... Not saying every once in a while a team can’t get hot and make the playoff, but it’ll be like UW a few years ago where them losing to an SEC team feels like an inevitability... just a thought..
Really wish we could’ve had an Oregon/Alabama matchup circa 2012 when Oregon had Mariota and Alabama still had dog shit quarterbacking.
Not so long ago I still believed we could bounce back and become competitive with the top SEC dogs or Clem/OSU, but now I’m not so sure. It’s like a tectonic shift happened around 06-08, cementing the power center of the sport into the SEC. And since then everyone else has been frantically trying to catch up. I’ll just say what I feel: you can’t hope to be a regular contender if your athletic dept. is determined to run a clean program free of bagmen & vitamin S while the other big boys do the opposite...
https://247sports.com/Season/2020-F...?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool&PositionGroup=QB Kinda hits on this. But losing them to those programs is inevitable.
Because one program is at the lowest it has ever been in recruiting just one year after having top 5 talent in the country is not a reason for concern. The PAC 12 has pumped out plenty of talent the past decade at the QB position (including a 1st rounder that was a 3 star with no offers). Florida loses way more talent to out of state programs on a regular basis (past 10 years) than California does and they have 3 major in state programs whereas California only has 1.
Well he mentioned the PAC as a whole. Not CA. Rattler was from AZ. And Buchner is going to ND. So he has a point.
USC pays Clay Helton 4.6 million dollars Lynn Swann gave him a raise and an extension No wonder it was tough to get rid of him
Still doubt the season takes place. Having. SC first sucks. Season is going to be a cluster fuck don’t know if we fire Chip after he wins 2-3 games.
Who knows if they‘ll play, but I think it’ll be fun to start off with a rivalry if they do. I doubt any coaches will get fired due to budgetary issues. His buyout is still big no?
yeah I have no belief (under no delusions) he will be let go before his 4th year. I thought this was a home run hire and it’s probably the worst in our history. Fucking sucks.
No idea what to expect other than how delicious our breakfast burritos will be. Kinda dig the 9:00 am kickoff.
