New Bourbon Thread: Bourbon Trail

My wife gets irritated every few weeks or so, but doesn’t have a full understanding of how bad I have been. Is your wife really all that on top of this?

 

I’m going to be in Ft Lauderdale on Thursday and Boca and west Palm on Friday. Anyone know of any good liquor stores?

You know, now that I think about it my dad lives down the street and has a big collection. I can just stick my bottles on his shelf and they’ll never be noticed until I take them back to my house.

 

Total wine on SE 17th St in FLL. Palm beach has some good Crown stores, bourbon wise

How is this place?

Primo Liquors, Fine Wine, and Cigars on US1 and SE 7th. It gets 5 stars from 195 google reviews. That is as good as I have seen when searching.

Good luck. I lived down there a few years ago and absolutely everything is jacked up. On the plus side there's plenty of handy/pappy/wlw sitting on the shelves the bad news is its all about 400 and up

 

Prices on anything decent are a smidge high but nothing too outrageous

 

And also don’t leave anything in your car while there.

 

And also watch your drink if you’re out downtown or you’ll get drugged. Especially at Capone’s. They’ll pick your pocket at Sway.

 

My experience there was awful prices. Maybe try Total Wine or Costco but that’s about it.

That's crazy. I won't be going out there other than dinner at Anthony's Runway 84 and I will be with 50 of my fraternity brothers, so doubt it will be an issue. :)

Still good to know, because last time I was there it seemed pretty upscale and safe on Los Olas.

Las Olas is east of Andrews, Riverfront is west. Both have good places, Las Olas is more upscale, Riverfront is more college type

So I am finally digging into the Weller 12 the past couple of nights, and I really love it. Any recommendations (outside of Pappy) of bourbons that fit this taste profile?

If you can find one, the Weller Full proof is awesome. About 4 of us blind tasted the Antique, 12, and full proof next to each other. We all thought the full proof was the best by far which isn’t so crazy but one crazy thing though is we all thought the full proof was the smoothest of the 3. It was lovely.

 

Yes been looking for awhile. It is on my remaining list of what I need to find.

I can easily get Weller 107 for $58 if that’s something someone wants, Ohio gets a lot of it. I just need to grab it when my schedule allows so might take a month
