Magicbands are disney's way to make it as easy as possible to spend money. It holds your park ticket, fast passes, room key, and credit card info (if you are staying on property) all on it. Scan and go.

    The colors are completely cosmetic.

What do you mean by website for planning meals?

Anyone do the Disney Cruise? Thoughts on that compared to park?

It's a completely different experience than the parks. If you have young kids and enjoy cruises, you will love it. The parks are a lot of fun but exhausting because you are up at the crack of dawn in the hot sun and grinding all day trying to hit every ride/character meet and greet. DCL is a cruise. Everything is much more relaxed.

It's a high end cruise line with Disney theming/experiences. Kids will have a blast and other than not having a casino, they do a good job catering to adults. Plenty of adults only areas on the ship that make you forget there are even kids onboard.

you 100% made a good choice. Especially with kids that age. The kids clubs on the ship are incredible. What itinerary/ship are you on?

Your itinerary is going to be Castaway Cay (disney Private island), Nassau, then a day at sea.

Fair warning, your kids will never want to leave the kids club so be ready to have that battle, especially if you are one of those families that like to stick together the entire vacation.

For castaway cay, post up at the family beach and enjoy the water. With a 4 year old, I doubt you will want to do much of the exploring by walking/bike.

For Nassau, there really isn't much. Take a taxi to Atlantis and explore. If you want to do the water park there, look into renting a room at the Holiday Inn next door. Usually cheaper to rent a room and check out immediately to get the pool access then pay Atlantis for the day pass. If you don't want to shell out the money, stay on the ship. It will be mostly empty so you will be able to do a bunch of activities with little to no wait.

For the day at sea, make sure you have booked all the activities you can. Do the alcohol tastings, trivia, etc. Find a night and do dinner at Palo with you and the wife. The kids will be more than thrilled to stay in the kids club all night.

If you don't have any activites booked, the first thing you do when you get on the ship is go to deck 2 outside of enchanted garden and book your palo reservation. Next thing is to go to deck 4 aft and book whatever alcohol tastings catch your eye. (I highly recommend the whiskey tasting and the chocolate and liquour tasting). If you guys are spa people, I suggest getting a rain forest pass. Really cool spa area with 5 different rain shower "experiences" 3 different saunas, and a private jacuzzi area. 100% do this if you stay on the ship during the stop at Nassau.

you are the man appreciate it. I know my wife worked with a person who helped book a lot of stuff.

I m a very simple person and told my wife the cruise sounded more appealing because it’s slower pace. I want to drink and watch the kids have a blast.

As far as leaving kids at home we go out all the time my parents always watch them. My wife may have a hard time leaving on ship. Security real good?

Pro Tip - Atlantis bell hops will scalp pool/water park passes for $50-100 per person, if you’re into that kind of thing.

It's disney. Your kids are safer in the kids club than if they were with you on Nassau, though if you do Atlantis, you might as well take the kids. They will love the pool there.

If you want to post here or PM me your activities, I'm happy to take a look and let you know how they did/make suggestions on tweaks.

be aware, no drink package on DCL. Though they do let you bring two bottles of wine or a 6 pack of beer per person, PER PORT on the ship. They also are pretty lax about sneaking booze on the ship. Buy a couple of liter plastic flasks, fill them up with your liquor of choice, and put them in your luggage.

    Florida Resident rates...

The cast member discounts are even better. You can get week long cruises for $500 a person if the right things break your way.

I know we plan on taking them to Atlantis.

At one of the places my wife just told me at dinner that we are going on a glass bottom boat. Also the 4 year old has a hair day or makeover thing with the princess.

the no booze thing sucks. A six pack will last about 2 hours so gonna waste time and energy for that. Just going to let my wife pay the alcohol bill and never tell me.

If you drink wine, bring that to drink at dinner. Even with the corkage fee, you come out way ahead.

I assume the glass bottom boat is at Castaway Cay. Honestly, cancel that and spend the day on the beach. It's a really nice beach and there are plenty of activities going on.

If you are beer drinkers, make sure you get the beer glass thing. It's $17 up front and for the entire cruise you get large beers for the price of the small. Pays for itself after 5 beers. It's also good for any future cruise you go on. Just need to keep the card.

definitely beer drinkers so that’s good info.

wine I will drink with dinner so more good info. 2 bottles won’t go far but might be worth it.

not sure on the glass bottom but that sounds right.

I could sneak flasks of bourbon on that wouldn’t be a bad idea either. All good info.

2 bottles each per port. So 4 bottles when you get on. Buy 4 more in Nassau.
