We’re only a week in so there’s not much to take away. But they haven’t improved at all since last year roster wise
Going to be another up and down year with hopes for some breaks at the end if it. The patented Mo strategy.
Hoping to get to my first Cards game April 4th. Staying at the Hilton Ballpark and waiting to get tickets day off. Is that food hall place the best option for pre-game? Also, any dive bar recs within walking distance of that area/the arena? Thanks.
Ballpark Village on the north side our Paddy O's on the southside of stadium is your best pregame spots. Might want to hit up Broadway Oyster Bar or Game 6 Honky Tonk Joint for dive bar feel. Not dive bar but really good craft brewery - 4 hands is about 7 blocks south of the stadium
KMOX is doing weekly episodes of a narrative history of the 2011 season. 5 episodes in and it’s really good. https://pca.st/episode/1d45c305-fdb8-472b-bafd-079dd06ff1b5 it’s under the sports open line feed. It’s kind of annoying to sift through the other stuff they put on the feed, but it’s worth it
New closer, same stressful endings. But you can't win all 60 if you don't win the first! Solid start for Jack. Just damn good to have baseball back.
Who is the last closer that didn't induce fear with every three run lead? Early on Rosenthal? Also, let's put some stank on the thread title. At least division Champs or something.
Pfft at celebrating division titles. Also Izzy was probably the last reliever that didn’t give you a heart attack year over year. Although Rosenthal’s first couple years were nails until he fell apart
There is the homer Bailey I know Knew Carlos start would be shit, didn't expect the defense to suck though
Molina, DeJong, Whitley, Fernandez, Sosa and Ravelo are the positives. Plus one more who is remaining anonymous. I guess this means Edman is gonna play SS? Yikes. However, looking forward to what Kninzer can do.
