No, this is the one that sucks because it takes daylight away from the evening time and makes it get dark super early just so we can have a little more light in the morning when no one cares. Daylight time >>>>>>>>>>> Standard time
In Nashville... it’s the fucking worst. Very close to eastern time zone but an hour back. It gets dark between 4:30 and 5 here. I hate it.

Latitude, how does it work? Time zone effects are amplified further toward the poles, at least cancelling out any actual longitudinal difference, IMO
I'd wager I've already said this before, but this weekend, a state on the west coast and a state on the east coast will be in the same time zone. Pensacola, Florida is in the Central time zone. Malheur County, Oregon, is in the Mountain zone. At 3:00 a.m. Sunday, Pensacola will fall back to 2 a.m.... which is what time it will be there in eastern Oregon.
A move to permanent daylight saving time (staying on summer hours all year with no time shifts) is sometimes advocated and is currently implemented in some jurisdictions such as Argentina, Belarus, Saskatchewan, Iceland, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Morocco, Namibia, Singapore, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
I thought everyone falls back to 2 a.m., but yeah, maybe they never make it 2 a.m. in the first place. IT STILL WORKS OUT THOUGH.
The clocks change at 2 a.m. DST – which is still a little confusing, if one's trying to get it down to the second. So like, you're watching the Weather Channel to see it happen live in real time. Does it go 01:59:59, 02:00:00, 01:00:01? Remember, it changes at 2 a.m., not 1:59. I heard fall back at two, and thought fall back to two. Which, by the example above, is the only time repeated during the long night. Trying to figure this out (not sure if I succeeded,) I learned that while the U.S. changes from time zone to time zone, like we're all doing the wave from coast to coast, the European Union changes all of their clocks at the same exact moment, whether they're at GMT 0, +1 or +2.
Farmers were actually looking for a way to sell 0.12% more food by making one day feel extra long and in need of a fourth meal that day.
No more clock changes in South Carolina? Bill approved to adopt daylight saving year-round South Carolina is one step closer to doing away with the time changes associated with daylight saving time. South Carolina is one step closer to doing away with the time changes associated with daylight saving time. Lawmakers are answering those cries to stop rolling back the clocks. A bill that would observe daylight saving time as the state's standard time is now on the way to the governor's desk. The proposal passed unanimously in the Senate. In the House, almost a dozen lawmakers voted against the measure. But even lawmakers on board with the change are aware of the concerns of how to implement it. Even though the General Assembly voted in favor of the bill, Congress would first have to give permission to do away with the time change before it can go into effect.
Say this everytime. I get it, wish we as a nation would never set clocks back ever again. As a programmer the more individual states do this, the bigger a pain in the ass it is to code another timezone exception lol.
Pretty sure I've posted this before but next Monday (Monday immediately after DST) is on average the day with the highest number of fatal traffic incidents of the year. End this nonsense already, it costs more energy during DST and more people die.
Counterpoint: fuck waking up in dark and going home from work in dark for 1/3 of the year. At least give me a little time after work with some sun. DST should be all year.
This might be the WOAT opinion Daylight time >>>>>>>>>>> standard time hopefully we never switch back after this weekend
I’ve never encountered someone with this opinion. I am so confused. It’s always prefer daylight time or don’t really care but wish we didn’t switch back and forth
