I don't even know what to sell off UFAs after this season: Gustafsson, Crawford, Lehner. Not going to get shit for that unless you trade Lehner to....Toronto? Arizona? Keith and Seabrook have no trades Saad?
Olli Maata was another name I saw floated in addition to Crawford, Gustafsson and Saad. Was listening to a podcast that was discussing this topic and they felt the player who get the most in return was Gustafsson (2nd rounder) unless they decided to put Saad on the market. If I'm Stan I move Gustafsson and Maata. Get what you can. The cap relief on Maata is more important than what the pick/player would be coming back. Boqvist and Mitchell will take both of those guys spots next year on the team. Boqvist is already on the 1st line PP. Lehner is going to want 7-9m so I can't see Crawford taking 2m to stay as a backup. So move him out and maybe get a 3rd back. He's a two time cup winner and playing pretty good with a shit defense. Saad i'm on the fence about. If the return is overwhelming I move him. Keith isn't going anywhere and Seabrook has zero market. The hawks would have to add a sweetener to get that deal off the books and they can't move draft capital or prospects at this point in the rebuild. Hope the surgery's help and Seabrook can regain some semblance of a decent player next year.
really would not mind hitting the reset on Goalie situation not sure what Crow wants going forward but injury history and age, perhaps he takes a hometown discount.
If we didn't have Crow and Lehner we may be the worst team in the league. A complete reset will be interesting if it happens. Given what you laid out I'm not sure I go more than 2 years on Crow for maybe 4-5m per. He might be able to get more on the open market.
I would assume we are talking as a person? I wanted to know what he said/did because i'm out the loop
Wait it may just be that he just sucks as a player. woof his goals saved vs expected have him the 15th worst goalie in the league.... geez
Yeah, as a player. I watched the whole VGK/ANA game last night and my only reaction was that Flower might be the most valuable player in the league (in terms of value to his team lost if he got hurt)
So much young talent going to be injected into that defense next year. Hope Stan is aggressive in the trade market to unload some of those D men who shouldn’t be on the roster moving forward
Hawks had some awesome out of nowhere finished. Kane’s OT goal to end the Flyers series is right up there
Got to be realistic with expectations. This is a deeply flawed team. It’s not winning the cup. Beating Edmonton and making it what maybe another round isn’t worth it compared to getting a top talent in the draft. Especially if you could land a top 3 selection.
