My wife surprised me this Christmas with a Nintendo Switch. I have Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros. and Breath of the Wild. Think I'm set on games for the foreseeable future so what accessories would you guys recommend?
to follow up on the Pro controller rec, they’re $55 at major retailers which is the lowest I’ve seen them (typically $70)
Oh and there’s always sales on the eShop. If you go on there and add games to your wishlist, Nintendo will email you whenever they’re on sale it’s like free basing impulse buys
Repeating what others have already said, pro controller worth the purchase if you plan to play on TV.
So I've had my switch since they came out, and never had a pro-controller until yesterday. Sounds like I'm in for a treat.
I will stump for Fire Emblem: Three Houses whenever there is a “what would you recommend” post. Loved that game.
Untitled goose game. Also I've never owned a pro controller but I also play a ton on planes so I'm always in handheld mode
If you play handheld frequently, get the Satisfye grip. It basically makes your Switch feel like a giant controller with a screen in the middle. It’s awesome (just look it up on Amazon).
I can’t believe this thing is almost 3 years old and they haven’t redesigned the menu interface or added fucking messaging. I love the games on this system but it feels like you’re playing them on a desert island, isolated from the rest of civilization.
I'm good without messaging. I have enough of that everywhere else. But the menu interface could use a few tweaks or at least multiple options.
My problem is that devs like Epic figured out a way to implement native voice chat. The people that run the platform can and should have updated the menu system to add a private/party chat function. We also should have gotten a folder system and more themes by now. Plus they never developed a use for the blue ring on the home button on joycons/pro controller. I believe it was intended for when you got a new private message, which isn’t an option. The only game I’ve seen that makes use of it is Ring Fit Adventure, which sets an alarm to remind you to do a workout. That vibrates the joycons and lights up the home button if you haven’t seen that in action.
Katana Zero is a lot of fun. Nothing groundbreaking but a colorful polished 2-d action platformer with some cool mechanics
My gf has a perfectly fine Pokémon edition of the switch. She is still eyeing this despite zero hiccups or need.
Downloaded Thief or something like that for 1.99. Not to too bad if you looking for stealth type puzzle game
Was discussing that game in a party the other day. I'm pretty sure there's never been a game go on sale as much as that one, and it's always for 1.99
So I just won a switch and Zelda. Excited to play it. I hardly have time for games anymore but tell me what all I should get. My daughter just turned 6 so I’ll probably start getting games for her.
If you’re time limited and want short mini-game type ones: Mario Party Mario Kart Snipper Clips captain toad treasure tracker is also fun, super chill and isolated levels to complete Mario odyssey is fun to explore around
just got this on sale on their site, tax and shipping actually cheaper than amazon right now been wanting to play my switch more so hopefully this will go a way towards that
Happy Mar10 Day, dudes https://www.polygon.com/deals/2020/...witch-amazon-walmart-target-gamestop-best-buy
you have chosen wisely, Ser Hood jealous of you diving into the top and bottom ones for the first time
Friends, I am getting a switch this week (if Best Buy decides to stock it, estimated pickup is Friday) Do i need a memory card? Don't plan on downloading games, disk only.
I’d get one because the game offerings do lean heavily towards digital you can usually get a 128gb microsd for ~$25
hopefully this one is in stock nearby or can do store pickup https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sandisk-ultra-128gb-microsdxc-uhs-i-memory-card/5482501.p?skuId=5482501 also be very careful when opening the package, I’m not kidding when I say the microsd is about the size of a fingernail
I have already bought Mario tennis and super smash bros. Will i need this right out of the gate or can it wait a day? It's available for pickup Saturday and I can get my switch friday and would like to play that night. thanks
