Why do you think the federal response in the US is so horrible when we had 2 months to prepare? It's almost like his decisions have directly led to everything that has happened and that will happen. Maybe instead of thinking of his reelection he should have focused on prevention and testing infrastructure so we didn't completely miss our chance to contain a pandemic virus. People are going to die because of him and the people who voted for him. Potentially a significant number. Don't bother responding with your normal fox news bullshit because I don't particularly care.
Not so bad at the moment. Anything from here again is on the communities. I believe we’re much more as a country than just a figure head. It’ll get bad due to selfish people. Those younger with only minimal stress from contracting the virus will not want to be quarantined or isolated so they’ll just self treat and still go about life. Not much Trump can do about that. It starts with each of us
Donald Trump didn't cause the virus, but he sure isn't helping combat it. The fact that sports leagues are taking the rein to protect people with no cogent guidance from Washington is absurd.
reminder Washington is literally hamstringing local operations for political reasons. So much for community.
it's up to us to find toilet paper and diabetes meds for our neighbors on the local level. we can't rely on the apparatus with a mountain of money and willing experts at its disposal.
I mean he did. That npr article, if it's true, places the blame solely on him. They knew it was coming, they told him, he thought about himself. That was the time that any non selfish piece of shit would've started preparing and educating the population. Now it's everywhere and people are panicking because we went from nothing to shutting down states in a matter of a week. The best thing that could come from this is him catching it because of his arrogance.
money doesn’t exist. We could be paying people to organize a national health system to address this and future health issues. But no. Foreign virus invaders etc
back in my day we didn't even have likes so we posted shit like that for nothin' just powered by our own narcissism
Yeah he's been grossly negligent. But when I said he didn't cause the virus, I meant that he wasn't the reason it popped up in the first place -- it was some crazy bat in China. But yes, it wasn't like this snuck up on us -- they were discussing the spread of this months ago when it was almost exclusively a Chinese thing.
the amount of extraneous words I used to add to hit word counts for school bled into my normal writing style. was bad. but i also used to hold to some form of grammar and use punctuation/capitalization/etc but e-posting has shredded that
I scooped 96 rolls of toilet paper today. I will say though that he’s handled this extremely poorly so far. I do think the entitled culture we live in makes it more difficult than a lot of other countries for containment but the feds have handled their side terribly so far.
Sanctuary cities and sanctuary period from ICE was very literally discussed every day during the campaign.
I like you and you have enough people piling so I won’t. But, trump literally ran on shit like that. If you didn’t see it you didn’t pay attention.
maybe i'll dig up some longwinded post from right after i read Manufacturing Consent for the first time
No, I figured it was one of your shitty attempts at humor while you were (rightfully so) railing on a guy for being a trumptard in this same thread.
i remember when i was in the minority opinion in saying that BP should basically be bankrupted for the Deepwater Horizon environmental disaster. the board has changed a lot. in hindsight it's pretty weird that people from areas that were completely fucked by the oil spill were still were trying to defend BP at the time
that one in particular sticks out in my mind because there were people in here basically saying i didn't know shit because i had never been to the gulf coast while simultaneously people were getting chemical burns from corexit from coming into contact with water miles from the coastline. even if people don't always agree, things are a lot better now.
and that type of shit is somewhat recent even, glossing over the casual bigotry that just ran rampant with w2d/nog stuff i'm talking about like just racial slurs at black posters for having the most mildly normal takes
