just missed the cut i think at 22 looking back i’d probably knock out xzibit, but i was so excited that he was able to hit big he was up there with eminem as one of our underground heroes for years, so when restless was a success i was hyped was good to see the likwit crew and golden state get shine like that
it really is when I’m at my office and at my desk that what I listen to while I do audits and stuff, never get tired of that album
The Cool is my favorite hip-hop album of all time. That stretch from Hip Hop Saved My Life to Dumb It Down is just incredible. If I ever sat down and made a list of favorite songs in any genre, Streets on Fire would probably be in my top 5. Love that song. I get that he became a bit hit-or-miss after The Cool, but Tetsuo & Youth and Drogas Wave are also really strong albums.
Lupe actually was lobbying of late to take Joe Buddens spot in slaughterhouse. Royce shut him down in one of his interviews on this press run but he was very respectful and complimentary.
He’s definitely creative with how he throws his voice inflections around and switches flows and styles around so much for any given song but the substance is incredibly shallow
It can mean the difference between having a career or not these days. Beats and vibes are fast becoming the star of the show.
I’ve listened to this uzi album twice now in an attempt to brainwash myself. My biggest issue is that it feels like the same song over and over. I imagine I could look past the lack of depth lyrically because there’s something entertaining about how he raps and sings but I feel like it lacks songs that feel different if that makes sense
This is actually quite nice after the first pass. The features are pretty perfect and her voice just fucks me up
Wasn’t a big fan of Crash Talk but I’ll be excited for anything Q drops for eternity. He’s easily one of my favs
Isaiah dropped a little snippet of new music on IG live last night and it sounds dope asf hopefully we can get all the TDE we can handle in 2020
It may just be me but I just dont care to listen some pseudo-spiritual lyrics over and over. Electronica is just too weird for me
Man I fuck with this heavy. Big fan of how Jay Elec bounces back and forth between spiritual and swagger mid bar and jay is absolute brilliant on first pass. Sonically unique and heavy and the lyrical content is peerless. This is incredible to me
I guess it’s like once ur a billionaire who’s been in living in a bubble for a long time in a world not relatable unlike your first few albums when you’re grinding.......just hard to care what that person has to say anymore to me? I think some see it that way
Admittedly I like Jay Z and Kanye way less than most and likely less than they deserve. I fuck with Jay Z a bit but I just never could with Kanye. I tried, just ain't for me, even before Mom died.
Uzi dropped a 32 song album lol. Been digging it so far. It's perfect gym music. Just bumps and the lyrics don't matter.
