ANGC just cancelled their members tournament. My buddy said he thought they'd cancel the Masters before they'd cancel this.
Yeah, heard tomorrow or Saturday they will ban fans, leaning toward tomorrow and they're gonna play the full tournament.
If The Players wants to be the 5th Major stop with the lame ass overseed. The PGA of America has the target golf championship covered.
Yes, but I imagine the amount of slope at Augusta makes those greens hard without necessarily needing to be firm and fast.
We just had two weeks of really challenging golf and the tours gold standard laid down because the rye grass needed to be watered non stop. All for aesthetic reasons on television.
There is no way that the tournament goes on as planned. Maybe they can ban all you heathens from the practice rounds and let the elites like me still go Thurs-Sunday?
Should be great entertainment to see ANGC flex on some lower level Tour event and say they are rescheduling it for later this year and take that week away from them
Postponing everything would be the best result. Way better than cancelling. But isn't the season already crazy with the Olympics? They should just cancel the golf portion.
Was thinking about doing my bachelor party in Atlanta and going to a day of this. I'd settle for finding overpriced tickets to Augusta instead
I've gotten over the drive, though it does eat tires on an SUV. We're passively house hunting up here right now. The guy that I know up there who's a member is actually younger than I am. Initials are MF and he essentially took over his father's membership when his father died. I played out there with him a couple months ago. He's a really good player. Probably just about as good as anyone in the area. undrtow knows who he is I'm sure.
Augusta in August....No Thank You. East Lake is brutal hot. Only reason I go is bc someone gives me passes that has AC access.
Yeah I didn't consider that. Also Augusta really couldn't be played until like October-Nov. They would have to make drastic changes as the whole course is rye grass and they close in the summer.
theyre opening a new club this year at the 14th green/15th tee. Should be nice, bc yea its brutally hot and the current club areas are slammed to make use of the a/c.
The one last year was huge. Can't imagine it getting bigger. Think I was at the club on 13 Green/ 14 Tee. It was fantastic.
I know his what I am assuming is cousin. My bud is Arch the current president at the golf course up there.
I played cards with MF, Spanky and a few others over there the last Friday night. Was a blast. We keep going round and round about joining. I just dislike the back 9 so much.
I'm sure my buddy would have been right in the middle of that card game but we were in Florida. He bought a townhouse down there and joined Pensacola Country Club while down there. We're talking about trying to get a group to go down for a weekend of drinking, gambling, and golf.
These NLU guys remind me of the "Sports Guy" before he was GQ Bill Simmons. Their emergency pod was just too much for me.
Made the two easiest unfollows on instagram last night. Hailey Ostrom for complaining about the response to Coronavirus (sorry you can’t compete on junior tours, maybe try a new career) and McKenzie O’Connell for posting the stupid infobeautiful post about Coronavirus that is complete bullshit.
Do any of you guys have reservations about playing a round, or at the least going to a driving range?
Depends on the circumstances obviously. Would I go walk a round with friends or solo? Probably. Would I play somewhere that would make me share a cart with a stranger? No chance in hell. Same thing with a range, if I'm gonna be a few feet away from other people probably not but if its your local course and you can camp out a good ways away, I don't see why not.
I'm hoping to play everyday until the massive quarantine happens. Only going to play with two guys I already work and spend tons of time with. What they have I have at this point.
Just remember so you don’t have to touch cash or shop workers touch your credit card book a hot deal on golfnow. Keep yourself healthy Spoiler
