Anyone seen where we would have drafted if we had lost yesterday? Instead we're 9th. 18 top 10 picks in 25 seasons. 9. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-10) The Jaguars' pick will be their 18th in the top 10 since the franchise came into existence in 1995, the most of any team. The Cardinals, who will be making their 15th top-10 pick since 1995, are second. Offensive efficiency ranking: 28th Defensive efficiency ranking: 25th Special-teams efficiency ranking: 7th Overall ranking: 29th
Does Khan’s statement mean no staff changes too? Because if Todd Wash is back next year I’m just red zoning from week 1, there’s no point.
No commentary on Yan? Hopefully, we can trade him after franchise tagging him. The Jags have screwed up that situation (shocker) but I also don't feel that Yan is a $22M+/year player. As an aside, I heard from someone fairly high up in the Jags that Fowler, Ramsey and Yan all performed really poorly on the pre-draft player assessment tests. Poor enough that their scores did not meet what the Jaguars historically believed was draftable. Drafted them anyhow.
No commentary because it’s just more of the same from our front office. I have no faith in anyone in the organization.
Goes beyond front office, you can now attach it to the owner. Might be the worst owner in sports I have seen since jeffrey loria.
I tend to agree, I think both things can be true at the same time. We should have locked a player like him up and he probably does not deserve as much as he is going to get. I’m not trying to be dramatic but I think we may be at a low point for the franchise. We had one good year in the past decade. We are perpetually rebuilding because we can’t rebuild property. We have an owner that is clearly trying to get the team to London and is either intentionally keeping a poor front office in place or is too dumb to realize that they are not adequate.
The only one that may come close is Dolan with the Knicks. I definitely think this is a low point. The only saving grace is if Minshew is actually good. However, Khan is terrible. He bought an NFL team in a bottom third market at market rate ($750M) and expects it to generate revenue like a top third market team. If he wanted one of those, he should have gone after the Patriots or Cowboys, except those teams would have cost billions. Now, he has pissed off and will be losing many of the existing Jags sponsors. The next two to three years is going to be really interesting. Curry has fucked himself so badly on JEA that he may not have the political capital to push Lot J forward. At the end of the day, Khan may just be a really good engineer that invented a product that half the world needed, rather than a really good businessman.
If I'm being honest, I really don't care all that much. When I first moved here, I jumped all in with season tickets and followed the team closely. 15 years of being complete ass just drains any care you have though. If I were younger and still viewed Sundays as a day to get tanked with friends, maybe I'd be more into it. Now that I have a wife, kid, and other shit to do, I just don't care all that much. If they moved to London, nothing about my life would change.
I like to think of myself in terms of mobile gaming...I’m now a F2P fan. I’ll invest time and aggravation into the team, but I’m not spending a dime.
I don’t think Minshew’s ceiling is much higher than what we got this season. He just doesn’t have the arm to be a consistently good NFL QB. There are throws he will always struggle to make on time...so unless he’s going to become an elite QB in the decision making department(and I’m not sure we have the coaching in place to assist that happening), he can’t be your long-term solution.
Is Bouye still good? Or just wasn't a fit there? Trying to figure out what this means for Darius Slay's trade value.
As a Tier 2 Jag, watching everyone leave from that disgusting D 2 years ago is sad. I know 2 different people that have decided they’re not renewing their season tickets and everyone they usually tailgate with aren’t either. They’re selling all of their game day shit they’ve spent 15 years building.
The comments about more games in London and how the fan base in Jax can not support a full schedule showed his hand, for those that still had some hope that he still wanted a team there like me. All the infrastructure stuff around the stadium was a cheap trick and a backup plan in case the move doesn’t happen, but the money spent there will be irrelevant when he gets his wish. The franchise will be worth a fortune overseas.
He was actually in the hospital for awhile. Thinks he got it at the Players, which is a little frightening. That being said, the day before he was diagnosed he had a 40+ person party at his house.
I mean I shit on it instantly because he’s from UF, but is he good? I honestly have no clue. Tre Herndon has a great second half of the season so having another serviceable corner would be nice.
I do not understand the reddit comments being pissed about going defense/defense. Do they not realize we are staring down a potentially historically bad unit next year?
There's some question about his effort this season, once he realized he was a high draft pick. From a cover standpoint, he's been really good-to-oustanding since he stepped on campus. His tackling effort is suspect.
So Tee Higgins or one of the tackles at 42? We definitely have the draft capital to move up if there is someone higher on the board.
