must be taking Pryor this early bc they know/think Edwards and Henderson will not want to play at the same school.
He thinks we lead for them. We will not sign all three. Might give you guys Donovan Edwards slops though!
Can you give him to us instead? Muck Fichigan or whatever you guys say to each other on the team board.
I mean, I'll take either Edwards or Henderson if they want to come for any reason. I think Henderson is better, but Edwards being in state with a HC who is an alum would be rather bad PR.
We’re oversigning to see how coronavirus mortality rates play out, then figure out the scholarship issues in 2021.
I know we felt pretty good when he visited earlier this year, but he was supposed to be back for G Day. Then Corona fucked everything up
I like how the Michigan mod is essentially telling Harbaugh how to successfully recruit this kid. This is groundbreaking stuff. I'm sure you guys recall my recent blog on West Bloomfield (Mich.) running back Donovan Edwards where I reiterated my belief that Ohio State to be the leader in his recruitment, but that the race was far from over. If you missed that, click here - https://247sports.com/college/michi...r-rb-donovan-edwards-far-from-over-144716985/ My reluctance to put in a Crystal Ball was based on my belief that the Wolverines would have ample opportunity to bridge the relationship gap by growing their bonds on visits. But with visits being halted nationwide for the time being, the chance to make up ground on the Buckeyes was/is halted too, right? Wrong. I've gotten several questions in the last 24 hours about whether the commitment of the nation's no. 5 running back, Cornelius (N.C.) Hough standout Evan Pryor to the Buckeyes would affect their standing with Edwards. Well, my strong gut feeling is it absolutely has. That doesn't mean you should count OSU out. I don't expect they'll just concede here. But their perch definitely isn't what it was just a couple weeks ago. My strong gut feeling is he isn't as high on Ohio State as he was before that commitment. That means there is a bigger opening here for Michigan than there was before, and visits aren't necessary to start taking advantage of it. -The first key is to keep emphasizing a usage plan that involves taking advantage of his skills as a receiver. I know I've mentioned this before. Trust that this is not me being redundant. It's me highlighting how big a deal it is. Screens, routes out the backfield, splitting him out wide.... hammer that HARD. -The second key, and this is new... be totally transparent about your running back board and his place on it. How many RBs do you plan to take, and what's the commitment timeline for others being recruited? He's not a kid that minds being in a class with another running back. He was pretty emphatic about that when we talked. He IS a kid that can be turned off if he thinks you're not being up front with him about those things. So if he is no. 1 on the board and there is a 1a, just say that. And if 1a is about to commit, be up front about that too. Do those things and your standing probably won't be adverse affected. Be less than transparent about those things, and you will be adversely affected. Relationships will still be the deciding factor imo. Jay Harbaugh and Sherrone Moore have done a good job as the point men. I mentioned in the last couple of months how Josh Gattis has made it point to insert himself more into this recruitment, and that's helping a great deal. The last/biggest piece to the puzzle is growing the connection with Jim. Visits down the line will still tell the tale... but what we're talking about here is a chance and a head start. And Michigan isn't the only school in position to take advantage. Georgia is in position to do so as well. (Thank you for the shoutout BlueSamuel) As always, stay tuned.
Wait, he’s really trying to sell the “Ohio State lied to Edwards about taking two running backs” thing?
