Is social distancing the wrong term. Shouldn’t we say physical distancing? I feel like people done really understand what social distancing means.
They’ve floated the idea of 40-days straight with all personnel in house without leaving at a city close by us. That is...such a wild, intense social experiment waiting to happen. If we actually implement this shit (which I doubt), I give it 11 days until I get a rock dropped on my head from the roof of the second floor as I’m giving some motivational speech a la Piggy.
Just ignore cane. Problem solved on your end. We'll have to read his posts, but you'll be spared and can continue to contribute to the board.
Everything is ok. The scariest thing isn’t that scary. People can endure way more than you think. We all get through, no matter how hard it can be. It’s fine. We’re fine.
Was talking about how others approve of people treating others shitty bc they don’t say anything when it happens. You were the recipient of someone being an asshole and it is shocking how many people condone and approve of that type of behavior on here most of the time.
I've always figured it was a result of them having an average educational level of having almost passed their GED. It's just a theory though.
oh are you back for real now cause we can talk about how this doesn't really tell any good story maybe in a different thread
I don’t know where you’re going but I don’t know what “new drug patents” are defined as. That’s actually nuanced. But if I take it at face value I see 1) it’s getting harder to make new drugs because the low hanging fruit has been picked and 2) developing drugs is something America is actually still really good at and lead the world at.
Having all the bad news one click away while you are cooped up working from from home can do a number on your mental health. I'm trying to disconnect the best I can for periods of time, but its definatly a struggle. Let's all try to to not jump down each other's throats right now, and cut everyone some slack for a while. pperc15 thanks for all the info you've provided on here. I know we all appreciate it.
That’s my point. Politicians shit on the US pharmaceutical industry constantly but they are pushing world innovation.
If anyone watches “This is Us”, I feel like I’m about to have a Randle breakdown. I need to not keep up on this stuff as much. Tomorrow I might try to read less of this, with work and home/family stuff I don’t know if I can handle it
Was going to drive to Florida Springs (Weeki Wachi area) during spring break week with the kids. Stay in a small local hotel, go on a manatee boat tour thing, go hike some trails, etc. yes or no?
I’ve taken multi hour breaks the past 3 days to work in my yard. It’s been good. Basically what I’m saying is there’s a good chance my yard looks like Augusta National soon
But sometimes they are right to shit on it. It’s nuanced. Very nuanced. There are ways to fix it. A lot of bad actors have broken the “social contract” with society. we need both patent and insurance reform. Another time, though, ok?
City of St Pete is limiting gatherings larger than 50. Applies to private events, including weddings Mayor says they will be dispersing the crowds as needed
a cold front moved in here as soon as this shit started so today and tomorrow are rainy and in the 40s
thats my point, even pro-pharma folks think the US patent system is broken and causing price wars, inability for generics to ever take over here, etc as in drug X is developed, then has 100 patents filed and staggered over time to block any generic from being able to come to market for much longer than the laws entail, or blocking similarly active drugs from coming in in that same timeframe so we get exponent increase in patents filed, but we're not actually creating anything new, so that chart is mostly just propaganda since most foreign governments regulate away what we can do in the US i know you know this tho and we'll set this argument for later
I started working remote Fri but finally got official instruction from higher up to do so COB today, which is good because I was going to have to scream at someone pretty soon if they put off the decision any longer. (I'm in web and we can quite easily be remote.)
Hopefully never would have to do so. Nothing wrong with an insurance policy for protection. So weird how the mere mention of a handgun makes you and others lose it. EHO the virtue signaler.
if anyone asks a question that starts with “do you think I should go to________” the answer will be no
Let’s not do the pharma discussion right now guys I thoroughly enjoy pperc and his knowledge of what’s going on and don’t need shitbirds like CaneKnight dropping in and being a miserable cunt and running knowledgeable people off. Especially in this topic please
hmmm. yeah I'm leaning that way. What if we get there and everything starts being closed/cancelled... will be stuck doing nothing. It's all outdoors stuff not around many people but I dunno
