have a buddy who is working on a video series called Be the Chef with Linton Hopkins. They are short videos that show Hopkins picking out ingredients and cooking. check it out:
Fire Maker brewing is having a soft opening this weekend, and early reports from the folks on r/atlbeer are positive. Look forward to checking it out and having another brewery close by.

Thanks for this heads up. I sat at the corner of Techwood and North for an hour the last time he was in town.
Anyone ever had Buenos Dias cafe? If not, it's delicious. It's Salvodorian and they specialize in something called pupusas -- of which I'd never heard of until today -- they are kinnnnd of like a distant cousin of Arepas, but I honestly like them more. Anyway, highly recommend, and I ordered it via Postmates fwiw.
Bruh, how have you never heard of pupusas until now? And where is this place, because pupusas are my jam.
I've been living in a hole of ignorance apparently. This place is definitely on Grubhub and Postmates -- haven't checked the other delivery services. http://www.buenosdiascafe.com/
Yea it’s a mess. I’ve never seen roads backed up tonight like I did on my way into the city. The president should only be allowed to travel in the middle of the night because this is awful.
Why the hell can't he take a helicopter from Dobbins to CDC or Emory. Surely they have a pad out there
Alright, y’all win. That was legit. I did the Revuelta pupusa and a chicken tamale. Solid all around. They’re serving Cuban empanadas later this week, so I’ll have to try those. I have yet to try a Cuban empanada in Atlanta better than my own, and now I’m a little nervous.

Went to Georgia Boy tonight. Couldn't recommend it enough. The food was fantastic and the overall dining experience was top notch. I'd go so far as to say as that it was the best dining experience I've had since living here. Edit: After more thought, I'd go so far as to say this is Atlanta's best and only Michelin Star worthy restaurant. Also, if you plan to go, they only do tasting menu, only serve 8 per at a time, and dinner will likely take about 3 hours, so plan accordingly.
The gf paid since it was my birthday dinner/present, but I think the dinner plus the wine tasting was about $500 total. Edit: So basically, just a little bit cheaper than spending that money on nosebleed Alexander Hamilton tickets.
Kemp has punted every decision to us, the municipal governments. He is quite possibly the worst leader I’ve run across in my career. A true disgrace.
Was planning a Shaky Knees trip for some friends from Chicago....one of them sent out to the email list: "Man - these flights are cheap, we still on or what?" it's very likely going to be canceled and why would I ask 15 people to fly across the country so we can be around another 10,000 people
I wonder how that’s going to affect a lot of the bands playing smaller venues over the weekend. If those get pushed backed it might bump other acts already booked for the fall.
If you’re in midtown or the west side, get some to-go crowlers from Fire Maker. Their grand opening was supposed to be next weekend but that’s obviously changed. I just spent a good bit of time there hanging out and talking with the head brewer. He couldn’t have been more thankful or gracious for the support, and the beer is really fucking good. Get to-go food from your favorite spots this weekend. This is such a wonderful food and drink city and every dollar helps.
Stopped on the way to the GFs before they closed and they ended up letting me try every beer. Good beers and good people. The bbq beer was wild.
